For all those trying to get their NVC case #, DO NOT rely on the NVC automated phone system to provide that # to you...you MUST call and speak to a LIVE operator...I went through the entire NVC process and even after our case was completed, the automated phone system still reported our case as "record not found"...

Woohoo! just called 2 mins ago and the AVR gave me our case number MNL2009------!!!!

FINALLY! now what's the next step??? Do i need to email my DS3032 now?

Is it ok if i will send my DS3032 through post mail tomorrow? For sure it will take 3 days for that paper to arrived in NVC

That's messed up! Glad u have ur case complete! Can't wait to be free from NVC grips!! This is stressing me out big time! What was the reason u got an RFE for ur AOS?

Not sure abt the whole DS3032. We have a lawyer so we skip that step. Good luck and someone who emailed theirs already can shed some light into this for u.

yeah, we got approved last March 5, 2009 and only March 19 they assigned our case number... gosh that's kinda long but im happy now

Last year when I first went through the NVC, the DS3032 that NVC sent to us had a barcode on top of the form which I assume helps them to process it faster...While I waited for them to send their DS3032, I went ahead and e-mailed the DS3032 using the format from wiki, then when i received the barcoded DS3032 I filled it out and sent it via postal mail as well...judgeing from the time I received the e-mail confirming the acceptance of the electronic DS3032, waiting for the actual form sent from NVC was faster...

Glad to see you getting a case # I know how tensed I was about not getting one. Welcome to the NVC journey!!!

I sent DS-3032 4 days after I got case #. Then, on 5th day, my husband got DS3032 email from NVC (he's the beneficiary). So we sent email again. I also printed out the DS-3032 they sent in email, cut the barcode part, and pasted it (via glue) on the DS-3032 form that my husband had already filled out and sent me few weeks ago. Now, I'll be sending the mail part tomorrow (next day UPS ). As you can see my timeline, I, the petitioner got AOS bill on the same day as my husband got DS-3032. It's your choice if you want to send email now or wait for the form to arrive in email and then send. I honestly don't know which way is best.

Be sure to call them up tomorrow and give them your email address so they send you everything via email instead of snail mail which can slow down the process.

Thanks champi.. I will call the NVC tomorrow and talk to an operator so that I can give them our email address. I just tried to call the NVC today since my husband went to the church. Finally the AVR gave me our case number

our RFE on the AOS was on question #25...where it asks you to list your income for the past 3 years...i assumed that they would read that off of the 3 years of IRS tax transcripts that I provided...WRONG...lol...anyhows...I was calling NVC everyday to get updates and caught that RFE the day it was issued and sent out the corrected AOS the next day using another barcoded coversheet used to send the original and saved alot of time , as I didnt receive the NVC RFE hardcopy til about 2 weeks after it was issued...CALL NVC EVERYDAY and speak to a live operator and ask for updates to your case...you can find out about RFEs immediately and act upon them quickly...it is a pain the a@@ to call them everyday and wait to speak to a live person, BUT, WELL WORTH IT...

We are approved last March 16, and still waiting for NVC to assign us a case number. But in meanwhile, can we go ahead and fill out the forms (I-864 and DS-230) online while waiting? Or it's absolutely necessary to use the forms they will send us via mail?

Hey carlish,

It has been taking time lately to get a case #, anywhere between 10 to 15 days. But you're on right path. It is good idea to start putting docs together for NVC, filling out forms is a good start. Also, start getting tax transcripts, employment letters, police certificates, etc. These things takes a while, at least a week or two. In my case, we're still waiting on PCC, we applied for it on 6th March. But it depends from country-to-country

As for using forms, I think most ppl who wants to fly through NVC gets forms from online... I don't think its required to use docs they send you. But you do need to get barcode for things, which some people get it off of the things they get in mail while other generates it. I've not gone through the entire process so maybe other VJ members will have good answer for you

Hey arctic,

Some people from January and February filers are getting their approvals. But there are also plenty of people who are waiting on the approval. After you get first notice about your case being pending, the next notice you should get is notice of your case being approved (also commonly called NOA2). But there is no great way of finding out when the case will be approved. Good luck and I hope you get the approval soon
