I listened to the ARV this morning and heard the message you do not want to hear: "The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete on your financial evidence. NVC mailed a checklist letter on April 24, 2009 for correction..."

The DS-230 packet got there on April 23, so I'm really hoping this would be a false RFE. It just doesn't make sense as I just talked to an operator yesterday and she said everything was fine that the AOS packet was reviewed on April 17, and the review for DS-230 has started as well.

Anyway, instead of waiting for the letter in the email, I will call NVC first thing on Monday to figure this out. I really hope it's a false RFE. But if it was a real one, the only thing that I could think of that was missing on my AOS package was the 2008 tax transcript. I only submitted the 1040, W-2, and 1099, but provided transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005.

I already requested for the 2008 transcript and mailed it last Monday. Hopefully, if it was indeed about the 2008 transcript, I should be able to submit it in the next couple of weeks.

hi carlish,

if you did get an RFE for the tax transcript, you can also ask the IRS to fax you the transcript and you will get it the same day. You have to be at a fax machine - they won't fax to a third party like kinko's. I don't have a fax so i signed up for a free trial for internet faxes at maxemail and got it as a PDF, printed and mailed the same day.

also they updated the AVR the next day after receiving my checklist response for that RFE so if you did get the tax transcript RFE, it's looking like it may not take that much time for review. I haven't gotten notice yet if the review is complete but will update my timeline when I do.

wishing you a false RFE! :))

Thank you so much for the head ups sattva. I really appreciate it. I really hope it's a false RFE. But if it was about the tax transcript, I already requested it last Monday by mail (knowing my husband will need it for the interview). But if I needed it sooner and NVC wanted it, it's good to know that I can ask them to fax it and get it on the same day.

Okay, here's an update. According to 2 operators I spoke with this morning, I have an actual RFE. It has something to do with Part 6, Question 25. One operator said that one of the income returns I entered in Question 25 didn't match the transcript I provided. Another operator said, I need to wait for the checklist and resubmit the I-864 form to fix the mistake.

Once I get the RFE letter, I will call again to verify what I really need to do. Thanks to sattva's suggestion, I called IRS and requested the 2008 transcript this morning. They faxed me the account transcript right away. So maybe I will update my tax returns income to 2008, 2007, and 2006 instead of what I originally declared in question 25 (2007, 2006, and 2005). Maybe because I provided transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005, as well as copies of the 2008 1040, W-2, and 1099, the reviewer got confused why 2008 wasn't listed in Question 25. Plus, they are requiring for the 2008 return as of April 15.

The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete on your financial information according to the AVR.....

I called 5 operators today.... The 4 operators said to wait until we received the checklists, they cannot tell what is the RFE (GRR!)... But the 5th operator said - they received the DS230 and AOS but they're still reviewing it. She said everything is fine................

I told her that we submitted first the DS230 then after 5 days we submitted the AOS documents. She said, maybe thats why you receive that kind of letter because of that....

Now, i am really praying and hoping that there is no RFE in our AOS documents.

Accdg to AVR - we have a missing document in our AOS documents... Sigh.. I will call the operator later about this..

How long did you receive the hard copy of the RFE?

The checklist was generated 4 days after the RFE was issued via AVR. I spoke to 4 different operators and fortunately they were all very helpful and told me exactly what I needed to do to fix the RFE. I had all the documents except I needed to add 2008 in Part 6, Q25. I send the package yesterday as soon as I received the checklist in the email. NVC received it this morning. Hopefully, they can resume reviewing the case ASAP.

Anyway, goodluck. Hope yours is a false RFE.

Before i go to sleep this morning, i called the NVC - and i heard (AVR) that we still have missing documents on financial....

After 10 hours, i called again to try if the status in AVR are still the same....

What i heard is: YOUR CASE WAS COMPLETED ON APRIL 30, 2009!

We're praying that our case will be complete before the month of April and GOD answered our prayers.

We praise you Lord Jesus - you are our shield and guidance. I love you Lord!!!!
