My husband called NVC yesterday and was told that our file was in the building but not in the system yet.

I called back today on the off chance that I might get the case #, and no dice. The *ahem* charming and personable fellow that I spoke to (after getting a busy signal 17 times, and then waiting on hold for quite a while) informed me that they have not received our case yet, and it can take 2-4 weeks. I said "oh, that's odd. The last time we called we were told that you have the case there, but that it's not in your computer yet." The guy just repeated himself and said "we have not received your case ma'am. It can take 2-4 weeks." I kinda wanted to say "thank you for repeating yourself instead of providing me with actual information which must be available somewhere, if one of your co-workers was able to access it", but I didn't want to get sassy with him so I just said "okay, thank you anyway for your time" and then he hung up without any further acknowledgment.

This is gonna be a FRUSTRATING process! I don't mind the waiting. I know this is all going to take as long as it takes, but I really hate getting the run-around from people, and I also can't stand poor phone etiquette.

Just called NVC again after receiving an email of AOS/IV instructions -DUH!!! NVC already has both (they were received yesterday). So I called them to see what the deal is, and it turns out our review has begun and operator said to ignore email...AMAZING!! I had called a few hours ago and there was nothing new and all of sudden the operator was able to tell me this!! Now hoping for a QUICK QUICK case complete!! Wishing on lucky stars

As i observed, once the papers is complete at NVC - the Embassy will assigned an interview date to the beneficiary after a month. I just observed it from the couples here as i look at their timeline.. If our papers will be completed this month of April - our interview will be on June. Thats what i observed......

I think it may be different for each embassy/consulate. The consulate in Juarez appears to give out appointment the second week of each month, so you could be lucky and they could receive your file the first week, or not so lucky and they could receiv it the third week. I think we'll be finish in NVC around the third week in April (fingers crossed). I'm hoping the consulate will assign an appointment for us in the second week in May

I agree. It all depends on the consulate. Some don't have any openings for 3 mons and some interview every day and are able to give u an interview in a month time. Our consulate is not that crowded and they do interviews every day so if our case is complete in the next 2 weeks, we have a big chance of landing a May interview, but at this point and depending on how fast we get to case complete, a June interview is more realistic. Still wishing on those lucky stars though

NVC assigns the Intervew Dates, not the Embassy. Only one currently doing that is Guanzhou in China. However, once scheduled, I believe the Embassy can, at their discrection, rescedule or cancel interviews.

Ignore the snail mail. Pay the AOS. Then you should wait for the IV Bill. Paying the IV bill online before receiving the bill has caused us a final delay which I am trying to resolve.

Was your DS-3032 accepted before paying IV Bill? I've not received IV bill but my DS-3032 was accepted, got it through AVR today. I was able to pay IV bill yesterday. Trying to see if I would run into same issue as you...

The DS-3032 was accepted electronically from our emailed DS-3032 submission. This gave us the "IIN" number, which then helped us get to paying the IV Bill. BUT since NVC had not generated the bill internally, it has caused us problems. If you have any patience at all ( I DON'T) then I recommend waiting until NVC notifies you (even if only by email) that you can pay the IV Bill. You know we paid on March 17th and today, April 1, they still haven't resolved the issue. Another Supervisor today said they will "Personally take care of it". We shall see.

Thanks EN, I was also bit impatient. My IV bill was always NOT INVOICED til Monday. So, I paid it on Monday but then I received IV bill via email on Tuesday. Just 1 day difference... If this one day is going to cause me delay, I am sure I'll be kicking myself for not being able to wait 1 more day..

After a week of waiting, NVC finally generated the DS-3032 and AOS fee bill this morning (received them via email). I will pay the AOS fee bill and email the Choice of Address and Agent form on behalf of my husband this morning.

Acceptance of Ds-3032 drove me impatient. It takes about 10 days (including weekends). Here is what I know of it. Once they get our DS-3032 via mail, it takes up to 5 days to process it. Once it is processed, AVR will say it has been received. This is how I knew my DS-3032 was accepted.

Theemail-DS3032 didn't seem to work for me and I did not receive anything in email about it except auto replies. The only other things I got in email were IV bill, AOS bill, and IV/AOS package (just got it today).

Hello Everyone.

So, we finally got some good news today:

I called the AVR this morning and found out that our case was entered into the system yesterday! So, we FINALLY have a case number!

It took almost as long as it took us to receive our NOA2 (however, we received our NOA2 really really quickly).

Since it is the weekend (and there are no representatives working on the weekends), I will call them first thing Monday morning to give them our e-mail addresses and ask for some more specific information on requesting an expedite.

Hope all of you are getting some good news too

I'm so glad to hear your good news. It seems like most of us have gotten our NOA2s so fast that's it's almost hard to complain about not getting an NVC # very quickly, although I'd still like to complain about it. Your NOA2 was a week before mine, so I'm not holding my breath that I'll get my number this week. Oh well. We're still WAY ahead of where I thought we'd be right now so I'm very thankful for that!
