OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!! Just when I thought we would have to wait till Monday, WOOFREAKINHOO, I get an email from my lawyer stating our completed AOS/IV package is being overnited tonite and will get to NVC by Monday!!:dance::dance: YAYYYYYY Happy Friday indeed! I can now have a nice relaxing weekend as it's now out of my hands and lawyer's hand. I hope our ride on the NVC express is a smooth one!

I'm happy for you...unfortunately for us it is more of one of those LONG weekends, waiting for next week...

I hope you put PRESENT in question #20. I actually asked to speak to a SUPERVISOR today and after some persistance, I was finally put through. When I asked about our DS-230, she said the review had begun. I asked her about question #20 and she said "If you did not put "Present" you will get an RFE! I just said that was so unfortunate because the form did not allow that. She said, "You should have hand written present". No need to argue with her. I told her I am going to send in a duplicate copy of the form on Monday with "Present" written there. She said, "No don't do that, WAIT, until the review is complete so you can address all the items needing correcting at once. (I don't expect any others). I am not going to wait weeks for them to send me something that I already know needs to be corrected! On Monday I am going to send another IV BarCoded Cover sheet, a separate letter explaining what the change is and then include the new DS-230 form with the damn word, "Present" hand written where it currently says 4/2009). This is stupid..."Stupid is as Stupid Does!"

I told her I really wanted to resolve any issues before I travel for a month and her only response was, "Who is going to handle your case while you are away?". I said "I AM, that is why I am trying to get this resolved now."

Then the Supervisor told me that because I paid online (IV Bill) when the system said we could...their system at NVC had not even issued a hard copy of the IV Bill yet. So now there is this other issue (false RFE) of when and if they are going to finally recognize the fact that yes we have paid the bill and that is why we were able to include the barcoded cover sheet on the DS-230 package.

Oh I wish this were already over !!!!

take care all.

Eric

I feel for you, This is just not right. I checked the form Question #20 and it says to input as mm/dd/yyyy. So you are following the rules. Just so not right. I pray that all will go smooth for you after this.

Take care,

Hi His_Wifey,

I did not mean to mis-spoke but the excitement caused the error. I actually faxed them the form that I printed from their website. After waiting 10 days, I gave the rep a call and soon later next day I had the (4 - one separate for each year) letters in my mailbox.

So the only thing I did different was to simply fax, since I guess we are not in total rush but will be glad when all this is over and done successfully. Hopefully for all of you out there as well. Good Luck and enjoy your weekend.

BTW, I got thru NVC today and inquired if the IIN was generated. He told me that it would be by mid of next week. April 1st Wednesday might be the day for all those waiting for the bill to be generated.

Take care everyone.

How is everyone? Another week soon to come to an end and into the April mid next week.

Congratulations to everyone who had recently joined us in our struggle to get through NVC process.

On my side: I have not yet received any email or letter from NVC and they have not generated my bill online. Meanwhile, having had filed for Tax returns for 2008; I applied online for 4 years Tax transcripts. I was told by the Tax rep that it could take 30 days to process such a request, even though the application itself tells 10 days processing time. But anyhow, I received my 2008-2005 transcripts yesterday exactly after 11 days.

Just waiting for the PCC that my wife needs to get and I should have every document and ready to move along.

Once again, good luck everyone and keep the thread going.

hi there misr..... can i ask you how can one apply for the transcripts online? coz the only way i know is to apply for transcripts on the phone.... it would be great to know that way as well....

we havent received anything from NVC either...case number was assigned on the 19th march and still nothing....

Oh ok Misr.... thanks for your reply... hubby still waiting for transcripts.... hopefully wont take long either!

still havent received anything from NVC so im waiting for their email before sending DS3230... found out since hubby is military i can do an expedite..... but still waiting for papers from hubby!

My husband just called NVC and spoke to an operator. Our case has not been received yet.

Did he talk to a representative, I called two days ago and was told that my case has been received but has not been assigned a number yet.

He was told that the file hasn't arrived yet, and that it can take 2-4 weeks. I'm not worried yet. We'll try again on Monday.

I'm in the same boat. I called for the first time today. Do you make it a daily ritual or just every few days? People seemed very pleasant though.

So far we've only tried to call twice (Wednesday and Friday), but I intend to make it a daily ritual starting next week. :)

Congrats Carlish!

We just received our I-797 in the mail, today. YEAH :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: . Now just waiting for the NVC case number.

How do we wait for the email (AOS fee payment) if we never gave the NVC our email address? Do they use the same system as USCIS?

The NVC process flowchart says that the AOS fee will be generated for the petioner and the DS-3032 mailed to the beneficiary.

1. My husband (beneficiary) can email the DS-3032 without receiving the actual document? Once he does receive the document does he have to send the original in, as well as the email we sent?

2. After the DS-3032 is received by email are we going to recieve any other documents by mail or will the rest of the documentsl come electronically (email)?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!

my husband called 10 hrs ago to NVC and the operator told him that they received our AOS payment but as i check the website - its still IN PROCESS.

By the way this is just a random question - as I process the payment for AOS Bill, I choose the PETITIONER instead of PRINCIPAL APPLICANT.

Whats the difference between this two? I got an email from them saying:

The U.S. Department of State's online Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center has been utilized to pay the fees associated with the immigrant visa application of PRINCIPAL APPLICANT NAME NOT FOUND. Your copy of the receipt is attached to this email in a PDF file.

Do i need to worry about this?

You are very correct to call them everyday. However it takes them 10 days as we are seeing lately with recent approvals for it to get to NVC. Once the case number is assigned, then it is almost a week later that the bill is generated. However, it is very important that you contact the operator and provide them with your email addresss. If you file have reached, they will ASK you and enter both email addresses and phone numbers into the system. All forms are now sent via email later.

Congrats and welcome aboard. Hope for a easy pass thru NVC.

Congratulation to you as well.

Once NVC acquires your file, they will add email address into the system. It is important to catch them around the time they enter your file into the system - typically a week after approval. When you provide the email address and they put this with your file, the DS3032 is sent via email thru NVC.

According to NVC; they are now initiating all process through email (for whom they have email address in file). I wish they can simply take it right from USCIS process, but thats not the case. They will snail mail the documents if they dont have the email address and I guess; subsequent correspondence will happen via email if they received one.

I hope it is clear. Good luck!!

Congrats Carlish!

Eric

Hi Eric,

So many of us are in this situation and it's really frustrating. Good luck getting this resolved b4 ur trip!

For those of you reading this who did not yet send out ur DS 230, download the new form. The new one allows u to write/type present for Q. 20. When I called NVC when hubby and I were filling out ours I asked them abt all the qs that might get us an RFE for this form and the operator was nice enough to tell me that # 20 is almost always the reason the form is sent back. She also said not to leave anything blank as that is grounds for an RFE as well and that all blanks on this form have to be filled with N/A as per the directions! I asked why is it that there are no clear cut instructions for DS 230 like the I 864 has and she nervously chuckled. Maybe if enough people complained to NVC and demanded one be made available others who go through the process after us won't have to be frustrated over a simple issue like this that can be so unnerving!!

Oh and P.S. I have the same issue with the IV bill!! Hope it doesn't hold us up further. A few operators assured me it won't since we have the cover sheet. Me, I am not so sure how it's all going to play out  ....Guess I'll find out next week when my docs make it to NVC!

Hi Chirl, any reason why u chose to do things through snail mail? I am now thinking snail mail is probably the way to go. So much for the online/email process being faster!!

I was trying to use the short cuts, but I couldn't get my IIN on the phone and I did e-mail our DS-3230 twice, but it still hasn't been received by the NVC so I snail-mailed it too. My downfall was not providing them our e-mail addresses ASAP. I spoke to someone as soon as we had an NVC and she never asked for our addresses. I only realized last week that they don't carry that information over to the NVC from USCIS and I had to call them and give it to them. I think it delayed us at least a week. I am a bit mad at myself, but now I'm just glad things are moving and hoping they start e-mailing me updates from now on :) I will be checking the online billing system and calling them EVERY day from now - wish me luck :)
