interview and medical

Hello

Its been along time since I went thru London, as Im a american citizen now, so I don't know how things have changed since I did it.

My situation is, I have sponsered my mother to come the USA. At present she is at the NVC. Once shes thru there I know next will come the medical and interview.

My question is when the medical is scheduled can you schedule the interview within a few days? How does it work

I ask this question because I will fly over to the UK to take her to London (shes 76) and have the medical and I would have liked for the two of us to stay in london until the interview to save going twice, also if this can be done in a short amount of time save me flying from the USA twice.

Any advice will be helpful

I'm not sure if you mother's process will be different that the K visas, but normally you wait for the London Embassy to send you an appointment rather than you scheduling the interview. You can book your medical at your convenience so the day before the interview would work or even a couple of days if you can stay in London that long. The Embassy would approve pending the medical results It takes a couple of days for the blood work to come back then they send it to the Embassy. Once the Embassy checks the medical results they would courier the visa to her home.

The major medical isssue will be once she gets to the US - ouch!
