Hi, I just received my Packet 3 last week. I live in Vancouver, although due to work consideration I happen to be in Calgary for the next month in a half. The packet three gave the contact information for three doctors authorized to due the medical examination, from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver respectively. Being that it would be a real pain to fly to Vancouver for a day in order to do the examination, so that I might mail my packet 3 away, are there any doctors in Calgary who may administer the exam?

On this same note, I also need the criminal record check done by a local police unit in any city I have lived in for more than 6 months since I was 16. This for me is Calgary and Vancouver, getting the Calgary one should be simply since I am currently there; although for the Vancouver one, would it be possible to get it over the phone and have them mail it to me?

Thank you very much for your help.

You can only have your exam done by the Dr.'s listed. There is no longer a Dr. in Calgary. You can send back the Packet 3 without having the medical complete, you just need ensure the medical is done before the interview date.

You only need 1 police report that does a search for all of Canada. I believe if you go to Calgary and ask for a Canada-wide search, they should be able to do it no problem.

I agree with Sapphire Dreams. You can definitely send your Packet 3 in without having your medical complete. Have the appointment booked though! I, in fact, had my medical done in Vancouver the day after my interview because it just happened to work out that way. It can be done but it can be pretty nervewracking.

You should definitely be able to get the Canada wide police search done in Calgary, I had mine done in Edmonton.

I just went to the local RCMP office and they did a Canada wide search. I had a problem at my medical but went to my interview without it. They said just send the medical with your passport when you get it, which I did about 3 weeks later. Two weeks after Montreal got the medical and passport I had my passport back. No Problems.

My Husband got his Canada wide name search in Calgary, from the Calgary Police Service - he just went to their downtown office - I think it was like $30 and they mailed it to him - it took a couple of weeks to arrive. You only need the 1 for all of Canada.

There used to be a panel physician in Calgary - as of October of 2008 they changed this and now there are only the 3 places you can have it done, as you mentioned.
