Hey,

I just paid the AOS fee, is it too soon for my husband to apply for the police certificate in Jamaica? Do I submit it with the D-230 or does he have to send it in? I will be in Jamaica again in April and I just wanted to know if he should have all of those documents waiting for me to pick up and bring back with me or if he should keep them?????Anyone with info please respond. Any idea how much longer this might take?

Thanx in advance.

Morning,

You should definitely have your SO apply for the Police Certificate, Civil Registrar Marriage certificate and Birth Certificate as you will need to send the originals with the DS-230 app. He will also need 2 passport photos as well along with the signed application. He should send these to you ASAP. The sooner you get all of the documents in to the NVC the sooner your case will be complete. Take a look at my timeline, although we had all documents in Oct. there was an issue with my marriage certificate and incorrect info and it too 3 months to correct in JA :crying: and longer for my case to complete. With that said start gathering now and have him send via FED-EX. Good Luck :star:

Hey,

Thanx for the quick reply. I informed my hubby to get that started by Monday. How much is the IV bill? Is that the $400 fee? So I should not send in the D-230 package until they let me know, correct? And when do I send in the I-864 package? So all I need from him are the 2 photos, police record, birth certificate and marriage certificate? Do they send them back and will I need other copies of those same documents further down the line? Do i start getting happy now or when he gets an interview date? I am dying with suspense right now, I need soemone to throw cold water on me and bring me back to reality...lol.

Anyway, thanx again.

One more thing, we only emailed the choice of agent form, was that a wise decision?

HI

check out this link for NVC Process Flowchart for CR-1/IR-1 Visa Applicants this is a great guide

http://www.visajourney.com/examples/NVC_Pr...wchart_v1-2.pdf

Since you have already paid your AOS fee you should have your cover letter generated to send with the I-864 packet, and send that to the NVC ASAP as soon as you have all your docs. Its fine to email the choice of agent DS-3032, I did both emailed and mailed and recvd a response in approx. 3 days and was able to pay the IV DS-230 fee online, that's the 400.00 fee. As soon as it shows paid online and you are able to generate your cover sheet to send the form. If you PM me I can send you a checklist I made for both forms and it helped me a lot and worked perfectly :)

The sooner you get everything in to the NVC for review the quicker the case can be complete and then you wait on the interview date. Of course you can be happy now! I have been happy since I recvd my NOA2! Plus I stalk the NVC call the once a week to check on my status of my interview date  in fatc I just called them Thursday evening :clock: It is stressful when you get so close but that's why everyone in the Yardie thread is key they will hold your hand and be your support through the process! :star: We are all in this together!
