Lately people are asking VJ members to stand up and speak for ourselves. But Its so sad to see that we dont wanna fight for ourselves. We are following a system thats very complex and and makes one very frustrated, while, actually it could be very simple and easy. We dont have to demand alot from the authorities. All we have to ask is for a system that tells us exact case status, and gives us correct info about where exactly we are in our process. Application by application, person by person. Believe me that will give us a lot of satisfaction.

Now what we can do to get exact answers to questions:?

1) Lets come together. Thats important. No one listens to a single voice. Thaousands of voices make a difference.

2) Compose an e-mail that would:

a) Include our names, addresses, phone numbers

B) Explains whats happeneing and what we want.

c) It asks why is it so hard for USCIS to give us our exact case status. (If IRS can give status of refunds in just one call even though it handles a vloume of work thats much much more than that of USCIS, then, why cant USCIS tell us our case status?)

d) Demands that we be given direct phone numbers for service centers, who can, upon our call, open up the file, and give us exact info.

e) Demands that the applications be given a date by which they will be adjudicated, and that USCIS strictly follows these dates.

f) And includes other demands that make sense and are fair to us and to the government.

3) We, then, can send this Email to the white house, all senators, all members of congress, governors of our states, our state senators, mayors of our cities, all print and electronic media at local and national level, including CNN, NBC, FOX, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The L.A Times, and all other media that has an influence, and can demand answers.

4) That Email can also be printed and be sent as a regular mail to all of the above.

I am sure there will be people who will see thousands of names and will take action.

I am the first volunteer for the tasks invloved (that will include obtaining information from memebers, composing and sending Emails to thousands of addresses, sending mails, recieving feedback from officials, and media, interview, if required, etc., etc.)

This is not a dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please come on board with me and we can see results in weeks.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make a difference.

Please send me an email at lets_make_it_right@yahoo.com and also post your name in the reply, to encourage others.

You can:

1)Be a volunteer to help perform tasks.

OR

2)At least Agree to include your name on the letter.

OR

3)Do Both of the abve.

Please, for now, tell me in your replies to this message, what role u wanna play, and send me emails.

:help: Well you make a very good point. My fiancé and I are wanting to know what is going on with our status. And I can't seem to find out anything, and that too, the info I do get ahold of is so strung out that I cannot make sense of it. We want answers on our case status. When I visit the site, the numbers that are posted are not exactly labeled for all matters. Then it took FOREVER to update the site, and once they did, it still said they were processing I-129F forms for Feb. Over about a month time-span, the processes had not changed, though the site said it WAS updated, if that was the case, wouldnt the processing dates as well?

What do you propose we do about it? I want answers, yes, but without pissing them off to where it causes problems for my case. :protest:

I want to play the role of getting a good laugh in your one man campaign to fight a beaurcracy of thousands of people, including the President and the Director of Homeland Security. This govt wants to be sure of to whom thay are issuing visas, and get rid of marriage fraud that has plagued INS for years and years.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I think this is a GREAT IDEA....the rest of you should not feel discouraged by beaurocracy and LARGE numbers....that's weak....

How many times have individuals made social change in areas that we never thought possible? from women's right to vote to apartheid....i think this is less dramatic than those 2 combined and we CAN make a difference...count me in--I am an activist and have a B.A. in Community Studies. I am great at drafting letters....let me know if you are really going to pursue this....I can draft a letter...someone else can set up a database for a petition of names. I do not think it is appropriate to give out our addresses and phone numbers, but we can give out our names.

If people are concerned about their cases, then it's time for the people who already have their visas to step up to the plate and support the rest of us. If not, sacraficing a few months of delays, just as many in the world have made sacrafices in the name of reforming ######-up-ness, IS WORTH IT. Don't be selfish--we're all suffering equally.

IMO letter writing has little effect at all - we have written to, literally, hundreds of people and all you get is the "standard" reply "thank you for your interest in Homeland Security". It is likely that those whom the letter is addressed don't even see it - some office-bod replies.

I would suggest contacting t.v. stations - perhaps suggesting a programme on "legal" immigration and all the difficulties people go - versus "illegal" immigration, which seems so much more acceptable these days.

That is the route I would take - contact the media.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

I dont wanna spoil your moment, but I can't really complain about USCIS. Its probably cuz we filed at the right moment (before IMBRA started to ruin everything) or cuz every case is different. But I have to say that they were very sensitive about my case and about my mom's situation. If I am in Italy with her now its because of their help and the Representative's, of course. But they scheduled our Biometrics Appointment very quickly and on May 15 (less than a month after we sent our petition) they had already given us the interview appointment. We got the letter on May 18. They didi that way i could leave the States and do these tests in order to help my mom. Now we just have to come back b4 my interview date.

They are tough, i agree with that, but at the end, they help u if they can. You are right about the Immigration Procesisng dates, they are totally wrong sometimes. But agai, it depends. We sent our application on April 22 and in may they were processing January or Febrarury (dont remember exactly) at Cleveland DO Ohio. Now (June 13) they are processing March 26 2006. My interview app is for July 14 and by then they will be processing April 26 so....right on time.

I wish u good luck with your intent

I don’t think that what we are trying to ask by writing the letter is to stop the IMBRA LAW, at least that is not my intention, I have a government job, and I get my background checked yearly, what is bothering me is the time it takes to perform this task, it is already a lengthily process, and instead of trying to expedite the process it is getting slower and slower> If what they want is more information well them send and Email and I am sure that everyone will reply, instead we have to wait till god know went to get a letter asking for more information.

I am ready to send what ever it is needed of me, I have not problem with that, but please ask me for it.

Well, I can't complain about USCIS either. Visas take time we already know that. And it IS actually a good law. But I dont think they are doing all that to annoy anyone. Sure the law wasnt maybe well executed, but in future there are hopefully less immigration fraud cases.

hang in there

Hm...I dont think visa fiance(e) petitions are the only problems they have to deal with currently. There are many other petitions processed and it is summer time. Ever thought about that people might be on vacation. Remember there are also people sitting and working there. Who knows what is going on? Sure it sucks to be on hold and not to know anything at all. I know that as well . My husband gets his background checks yearly as well. Im sure they will work something out over there. I really dont think they are just sitting at their desk sleeping or drinking coffee all day. We still dont know anything about why the K3's are on hold either. And I am actually amazed that they move so fast. Considered to my government it IS fast. Maybe thats why I have that opinion.
