Hello, I am wondering if anyone from the Philippines has experienced getting a Brunei Police Clearance for thier K1 visa interview in Manila. How long it took? What documentation packet is needed to go and start the process to get the police clearance at the Brunei Embassy in Manila?

Police Records

Police certificates can be obtained in Brunei within approximately two weeks. When requesting a police clearance certificate, an applicant must submit the following:

  • Photocopy of his/her current passport.

  • Photocopy of his/her Brunei identity card, if available.

  • Evidence of the duration of the applicant's residency in Brunei.

  • Fee of fifty Brunei dollars.

The above items should be sent to:

The Commissioner

Royal Brunei Police Force

Gadong Headquarters

Bandar Seri Begawan

Attn: Awg Mohammad Abdullah - Translator

If the applicant lives outside of Brunei, a request for a police certificate, along with the required passport and identity card photocopies, may be sent to the Embassy by courier service.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3522.html (Double the time for doing it through the the Embassy.

I would be getting this around the time if I-129F NOA2.

Moving this to consulate/embassy forum.

Is this information still valid? I clicked on the link for its source, but the link is no longer valid.

I just finished filing I-129F for my fiancee. She is going to try to get her police clearance from Brunei now, but she cannot get 50 Brunei dollars while she is in Taiwan or when she goes back to the Philippines. Can she send US dollars instead? If not, show can she get Brunei dollars? Should she be sending cash with the request? If not, what is an acceptable method for sending the money? How long will it take?

She is working in Taiwan right now, and will go home to the Philippines in about 1.5 months. She will wait there for her interview and K1 visa. If she requests her police clearance from Brunei now, should she ask them to send it the Philippines? I was thinking about writing her a letter to send with the request explaining her plans to move back home and requesting they send it to the Philippines even though her request letter is coming from Taiwan. Do you think this will work?

Her other option is to wait until she gets back home and then go to the embassy in the Philippines to request the police clearance from Brunei. The only problem we have with this option is that we're afraid it might take too long and slow down the K1 process. We think it might be best to try and get the clearance now instead of waiting. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

James

When in doubt go to the home page http://travel.state.gov go to visas and then fees/reciprocity then find country in question, websites to get reorganized from time to time.

This is great. I looked on that site before, but could not find the information. Now I found it. Thanks.

Any idea how the money should be sent? How can my fiancee get Brunei dollars from Taiwan? Should she send cash or something else? Will US dollars work?

Reciprocity Table.

She already went there and they could not help her because she was moving in 2 months when she went.

We would like to send a letter to Brunei now, since it is only 50 Brunei dollars, but we're not sure how to get Brunei dollars or how to send the money. Do they want cash in the mail.

This is almost a 10 year old thread right now. So I suggest that if you have a specific question or post to start a new thread in the Philippines subforum.
