Being an idiot within a movement characterized by obvious loathing of foreigners is a trend.

What trend? There are millions of foreigners living here and the vast majority aren't murdered. The proportion of foreign born Americans is at it's highest since the great immigration wave at the turn of 1900s and there been nowhere close to a major surge in violence against foreigners.

Immigration wasn't even a major issue during the presidential campaign.

Ahhh... yes. Therein lies quite the contradiction for a few folks around these here parts. They sponsor a loved one into the US... but they have no problem criticizing the immigration problem as a whole. Strange to say the least wouldn't you say?

Most of us on VJ are doing things the legal way so I see no contradiction in deploring people jumping in line and giving legal immigrants a bad name. It would be more strange if they were silent on the issue or unable to see the distinction between legal and illegal immigration.

What? I must have missed squealing pig posters slamming immigrants while petitioning someone from abroad. Given the nature of this forum, I'd think I'd plenty of the people you're alluding to. I think that likely qualifies as an 'example' statement. But we don't need to drag others into it... specially when the comment isn't even directed at you to begin with- or anyone else in particular save for the obsessive squealers. And no... there really aren't many more than one or two that I've read here to be quite on that hypocritical wavelength.

I never condone the murders but did point out the disparity in coverage of crimes committed by illegals and crimes committed by nativist bigots against immigrants which you completely ignored. You must think the thousands killed by illegals each year in America just aren't even worth mentioning. There's one trend you'll never bring up.
