moving to FLORIDA

so here we are in florida, specifically somewhere in riverview staying with friends... checking out places to rent thinking of moving here. we're from colorado and our town voted the top place to live and raise a family... why move? I DONT KNOW lol... probably because more options and opportunity for us especially in the marine industry... foreclosure is worse here in fl and most everything is upside down. we wish we can buy a home here coz now is the best time, but we dont have enough cash not unless if we sell our home in colorado. but we thought if ever we move, we'll give it a yr to rent and make sure that we really like it here before we commit to everything... we're hoping we can rent a place in apollo beach (which we found a good place for a good price)... we're not a city type kind of couple so we want to live in a small community... i know lots of you here live in fl. so i thought maybe we can all get together and hang out sometimes lol... if ever we'll pursue our plans... i think we're 70% to 30% in favor of moving... we'll miss snowboarding but i guess in this time of crisis, we'll have to make a sacrifice for a better future!!!

I lived in Colorado Springs for a spell, oh my, oh oh oh so cold cold cold! I remember when I went snowboard there.... was riding the lift and by the time I was to get off the lift I thought I might be so frozen that I just might break in half and yeah, I was dressed well. 18 inches of snow just outside of Cold Springs in April told me that Colorado was not the place for me.

yea we do love to wakeboard/wakeskate and my hubby does slalom skiing too. so that should be ok in fl... snowboarding is fun but it can be too dreadful on top of the mountain... our place here is great coz its always sunny although cold sometimes but not as bad compared to other places in colorado... i fell on the ski lift when i just started snowboarding... not fun!!! lol... anyways yeah i think we're heading to fl... hopefully we'll figure something out soon!!! thanks guys!!! Riverview and Apollo beach are not all that far from Lakeland..where I live. Hopefully Dylan will be here soon! Don't forget we have SURFING here in Florida : ) Before I became an RN I used to do ceramic tilework in riverview, brandon and apollo beach on a daily basis. Goodluck!

we're close on closing the deal... we found an older house that suits our needs especially who takes 2 dogs and a cat. we prefer a newer home w/ a big fence yard but gosh so hard to find the perfect one w/ no HOA strict rules... and that will allow dogs over freaking 25 lbs. for crying out loud! lol... anyways we're still looking for more options but if we cant see one, then we'll seal the deal next week!!!

yea my hubby wants to learn surfing! we tried it on siargao, phil. but wow it was another level for me... i guess i'll stick to wakeboarding/wakeskating for the mean time... God bless all!

HELLO WELCOME TO FLORIDA!!! I am exactly one year here now and it's a great place to live in, it always mesmerizes me of our place in Quirino Province.

Lake County ( Central Florida ) is a great place to live in, very rural, people are nice, peaceful environment....an hour drive to Orlando..( prime outlet mall and Asian Supermart, the best!!! ) .hour and a half to Ormond Beach or Daytona .... But true enough there are a lot of houses on sale in our community..There's a Filipino Fiesta in Tampa...check this out.. http://www.pcfitampa.org/philfest/philfest.html...you might want to go and enjoy the Filipino groove.
