Does NOA2 (for I-130)depend on beneficiary country?

Hey Guyz,

I've been browsing these forums for last few days. I notice that majority of the NOA2 for I-130 takes quite long for countries like India, China, compared to countries like Canada or South American countries. Is this a known behavior? Why? Every time I read someone getting approved in 2-3 months, I get excited and then I look at the person's country (usually turns out to be Canada or one of the South American countries) and I wonder if it was quicker only because they're closer to US (I know it's a silly observation). It kills me to think that I may have to wait a year or longer, like some of you brave people have been doing. I hope that's not the case with recent VSC speed ups I've been reading about...

Closer connections between USA and some countries that with others can cause varying lengths of processing of things like name checks.

I think it all depends... when I have been keeping an eye on other poeple's approvals before my NOA2 I always thought the Canadians were not moving nearly as fast as other countries...

I never saw Russia, Morocco, Pakistan were approved in 2-3 month...

Recently ive seen people from Morocco and Eygpt get an approval in approximately 45-50 days... so i dont know about the beneficary country to be honest

I'm not convinced any of us will be able to figure out this process. We have some Canadian filers from June and July 08 still waiting for their NOA2 while others have been approved within a few months. No rhyme or reason to this at all in my opinion. Just hold on and enjoy the ride. Good luck.

There were two recent Vermont approvals within 4-6 weeks. One was from India and the other was from Morooco. I think it is all about luck, but I think that they do some sorts of Name check and common names from some countries can cause many hits, which I believe take time to resolve. I wish threre would be a way to find out about this whole system!!! Good luck to all of us!!!!

I was wishfully thinking that my husband's file gets processed faster since he has already been here last year...I mean, all his background checks and stuff was done already so one would think there is less work required in process part...... oh well..
