Hello, My wife (a PR) and I moved into an apartment in december. the place was nice at first but became horrible! To the point that it was unlivable. I dont want to go into to many details but it was everything from carbon monoxide leaking into our apartment to frozen pipes for days at a time. Some nights we had to sleep at my parents house. We decided to move out by february 22nd. I live in a small town and it seems decent rental properties are very hard to come by! We found a house to rent and were supposed to move in between the 15th and the march 1st.

On the 17th I had changed many of our addresses (mail forwarding, credit cards, etc but not my wifes uscis) to this new one and were moving much of our possessions into it when my buddy who workd for a large painting company noticed that the paint was flaking in places on the outside of the home and also around the doors and windows of the inside. The interior is in very good shape and mostly renovated aside from this. He said that due to the house being from the 30s and the chalking nature of the paint that he would guess its heavily leaded paint. My wife and I hope to start a family within the next year or 2 and due to the detrimental affects lead dust created from the flaking paint has on pregnant women and children, we became very concerned and spoke to the landlord. Since it is the law that he is supposed to inform us of the presence of lead prior to signing a lease and due to the expense of having a lead abatement team remove it properly he said if we want out of the lease its no problem with him at all and he will give us a full refund. he understood our predictament.

We want to bring in an inspector for a lead risk assessment and test the chipping paint and dust to see if its leaded. on sunday we brought our large possessions to my parents garage and are sleeping there. Its easier than moving eveything into a house and then deciding that we dont want to be there and moving everything out.

So to my question. If we moved out of the apartment on the 22nd of february,we have 10 days to change her address. Should we change it to my parents address if this takes longer than 10 days to complete? or should we change it to that house even though we arent staying there yet or if at all and then change it to my parents house if we decide we dont want the place. Will all these address changes throw up any red flags? Im just trying to do this right. If the tests deem the place hazardous we will stay with my parents until we find a new place. So do very temporary addresses get reported as a change even if your mailing address is different for a short period of time?

sorry if this is confusing, as ive said, Im just trying to do things right and I am confused by my own situation.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can provide!

File an AR-11 AND I-865 changing your address to parent's home, and then later file another AR-11 AND I-865 to your new place of residence.

:time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=19706 Nothing there after K-1 NOA2 DID you adjust status, file to remove conditions???

You may want to update profile details with current immigrations status, and perhaps "Brazil"

I will update it soon, I just dont have the dates off the top of my head and have to check our papers. Thanks for reminding me...

Anyways, So I should change it to my parents address even if it ends up being just for a few days? Its kinda up in the air right now. We already changed our address on our drivers licenses, mailing forwarding, etc. I called the dmv and they said it was fine, just as soon as I know where we will be, change it or keep it if its the same. My concern is that if I change it to my parents address, that it wont match our drivers licenses and postal address. Could this end up creating a big mess down the road with USCIS when we file to remove conditions, with them believing we did not change our address with them when we were supposed to?
