I have a 2001 Honda CR-V with 60,000 miles. I absolutely love my car, but with the high gas prices and all the city driving I do I've been debating on trading it in. I get about 17 MPG in town and I rarely drive the highway these days. I went to a dealership today where there is a 2003 PT cruiser, emerald green, same features as my Honda and they are asking $11,000 for it. Talked to the financial dude and they are willing to do an even trade!!!! I know my Honda is supposedly one of the "safer" cars in crash tests. Anyone know anything about these PT Cruisers? I do like it and I look good in it!

from what i've heard, they are on a dodge neon chassis. is the gas difference between the two that much? also factor in any additional cost in insurance

I'd take a Honda over a Chrysler any day. Chrysler is not know for quality.

The PT is smaller too.......

you can check the value of the cars at:

Kelly Blue Book

Edmunds

NADA

I just checked... the PT has worse mileage overall.

PT - 22

CRV - 23

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. Thanks for the input. I'm been doing a little research on both vehicles and I'm gonna stay with my CR-V. Plus my grandpa used to be a mechanic. My mom just told me that if he knew what I was thinking about doing he would turn over in his grave! Don't want that to happen!

The only thing they're good for is rental cars!!! Here in Hawaii, all the rental companies carry them. Everytime I see one, I know it's another tourist cloging our roads!!! ;)

I read that they have relatively small engine sizes and use some sort of turbo charger to give it extra kick. Might be ok for a town car, but do any sort of distance driving on a regular basis and you might find yourself faced with a lot of maintenance issues.

I like the new Mustang, had a test drive in one not so long ago when we had to rent a car from the airport. Nice.... if I could afford it.

and brakes. Chrysler seems more concerned with esthetics than reliable function.

If you want to try and find something with better mileage, go for a smaller Honda. Civics get well over 30mpg, depending how old they are. Of course the older any car is, the mileage decreases.
