Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

On February 27, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address

YEP, RFE....

Just respond as fast as you can. Document how you send it so you can track it. I would also call to make sure they receive it a few days later. At least someone is looking at your papers..

Don't panic quite yet. It might not be for anything really serious.

We got an RFE because we didn't send originals of the G-325A. We sent photocopies and they needed original signatures.

They sent us the address and all the other information we needed to return the originals, and our case was approved shortly after they received them.

yep, what everyone else said.

the plus side is that approvals usually come shortly after rfe's :thumbs:

get them whatever they want, follow up and wait for news :)

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

RFE's are usually something that is not a big deal and not scary, so just take it easy. It could be something like needing a translated copy of something, or an original as the previous poster said. This is good news. Usually after an RFE the person gets an approval pretty quick!

RFE's ARE a huge deal...and nothing to take lightly...if not responded to correctly or at all, can result in a denial.
