man pretended to be an air marshall

Authorities say a man running late for a flight flashed a fake police badge to airline workers and claimed to be an air marshal so they would let him through the gate. Miami-Dade police said a 49-year-old man was booked on a flight to Los Angeles Wednesday night, but the gate had already closed and the plane was departing. After he showed the fake badge and claimed to be an air marshal, employees stopped the plane and let him board.

But real air marshals already on the plane recognized his fake badge and kicked him off.

Not content with avoiding arrest, police said the man went to an airport bar and began loudly complaining about missing his flight. That's when airport police arrested him.

The man was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Reminds me somewhat of a fairly-recent Snuffy Smith cartoon:

Snuffy and Lukey, in the General Store, are pretending to be deputised by the Sheriff. Silas responds, "I'll give you the sodas free--so long as you each pay $2.00 for those plastic badges" (the normal price of the badges was $1.50).

When I heard that air marshalls are suppose to be aboard every flight, triggered of my curiosity as to whom they were. Not that two month old baby, but maybe, or that 90 year old woman, but maybe, could be that good looking gal, naw, he's way too fat, he's way too small, so it goes on.......

Actually, very simple to find.

You look for someone with clothing that fits about as well on the flight as a coffee-coloured Aspire does in a Walmart parking lot.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

There's not an air marshall on every flight. If you spotted one you must be some kind of expert.

"Of the 28,000 commercial airline flights that take to the skies on an average day in the United States, fewer than 1 percent are protected by on-board, armed federal air marshals, a nationwide CNN investigation has found."

I wish I knew what the heck coffee coloured aspire was, so I'd know if it looked out of place in a walmart parking lot or not (is this some European product?).

All air marshalls look like this.

Aspire -- a failure model marketted under Ford "oval" in mid-1990's; vast majority of the ones I'd seen were fleet-sales (rental-agencies or "Mary Kay" prizes).

Believe I was saying, really didn't see anybody that could defend me or I would trust to defend me. Maybe that fat lady with a wide skirt I could hide behind.
