I'm a citizen as of yesterday!!!

Well.....there were 77 of us, ALL Latin American countries were represented, the majority of the 77 being from the Dominican Republic (figuring that close to Puerto Rico) and there were two from Europe (1 Russian, 1 German) and then there was me!

We waited 1 hour for everyone to finally arrive (latins have bad punctuality arriving on time) even the judge arrived late (go figure) and then 26 minutes later...we were out.

No Video, she just said "Congratulations everyone. Everyone please stand to take the oath, and then we'll give out your certificates".

And so she did that really quick, and when she got to me, a few other ladies that worked for the Department of Homeland Security came over to the judge and they all said to me "Congratulations, your the first Australian ever to naturalize in the state of Puerto Rico" lol (although its not a state but they are really statehood advocates,its still a territory)

Walking outside the courtroom RIGHT NEXT DOOR the trial of the ex-governor Anibal Acevedo Vila was going on in his corruption scandal during elections, tight security indeed....weird, us getting naturalized in one room and teh ex-governor on tirla in the next room...weird.

So that felt good. After that i went with my wife and we flew kites in Old San Juan at El Morro and went back to the other side of the island.

So IM DONE!!!!!..............PROCESS OVER!!!!!!!. THANKS VISAJOURNEY for your help!

May 10th I-130 Packet and Packet 3 sent off to me by the U.S. Consulate
May 16th -Received Packets 1-3 from the U.S. consulate
June 29th -I arrived in Puerto-Rico!
July 2nd -Married in Mayaguez, Puerto-Rico and also got our interview date for September 6th
August 17th -We arrived in Australia to file for Sep. 6th
September 6th - Filed DCF in Sydney and approved 1 hour later!
September 12 -Received my passport with the visa and yellow packet
November 24th -POE.......Guam,USA
December 12, 2005-Green Card arrived in the mail
September 11, 2007 -Filed I-751 on conditions
September 17 -VSC Receives my I-751 and issues NOA1
Oct 10 -Had biometrics taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico ASC
Oct 12 -Touched.
Aug 21, 2008 -Approved!...........finally
Sep 17, 2008 -Mailed off N-400
Oct 22, 2008 -Biometrics taken in San Juan ASC
Feb 12, 2009 -N-400 Interview
Feb 26, 2009 -Oath.....the end.

02/03/2006 - RECEIVED MY PERMENANT RESIDENT CARD

11/04/2008 - Application Received

11/28/2008 - Fingerprinting done in Norfolk VA

02/23/2009 - Interview in Dallas TX - not enough evidence on marriage -given till 03/23/2009 to submit all the necessary documents

im just glad this is all over!.....so many forms....so much time it takes and soooooo much money!

Oct 29th 2004 -Met online
Oct 29th -First phone call
