I JUST called and found out the Interview date for april.

I think what OP means is that the NVC is scheduling interview not only on the first 2 weeks of the month. You don't have to call NVC to schedule an appointment, but if you want to find out when the interview date is, you can call them now and see if they scheduled it (assuming that your case was completed on time to be scheduled for April).

USC petitioning for parents:

1-7-09 NVC Received file, NVC Case# created

1-14-09 NVC Sent DS-3032/AOS Fee bill

1-15-09 Emailed DS-3032 to NVC

1-20-09 Received in mail DS-3032 / I-864 Bill from NVC

1-20-09 Paid I-864 Bill (Online)

1-21-09 Shows AOS Fee Bill Paid online

1-23-09 Return Completed I-864

1-23-09 NVC AVR message says IV Bill generated

1-23-09 Paid IV Bill online

2-9-09 DS-230 package sent to NVC

2-11-09 DS-230 received at NVC

2-17-09 Case Completed at NVC

2-25-09 NVC Left

4-29-09 Interview Date (Called AVR on 2/26/2009 and it said all documents sent to the consulate in KTM, Nepal. Also, talked to the operator on the same day and she said the interview has been set for 4/29/2009 and should be receiving the interview letter soon).

4-29-09 Interview Date (Interview rescheduled for earlier date of 4-20-2009)

4-20-09 Interview Successful (asked to come back for the visa on 4-23-2009)

Just called NVC, but no interview date yet to be schedule. I guess getting interview date is all depend on how busy your respected embassy/consulate are. But worth trying to call early to see if it has been schedule.

i got it in first of april .... i think it depend on the periority ( time u apply ur i-130 ) i guess so also for embassy and how many cases is they got ... cause embassy make appointmet then send to nvc the information .. ..wish u all good luck

Hmmm....so my case was complete on Feb 25th. Do you think I should give it a few days and then call and ask if my interview date is scheduled??!? I'm hoping for an April one...but you never know! Each country/embassy is different right?

Really, hmmm.. I never knew that. I thought NVC assign interview by your case completion date. How did you find out that they use NOA1 priority date?

I found it in another topic (let me see if I can find it again). The priority date is listed in the DS-3032 acceptance email that you receive from NVC.

Priority date would only be used if it was outside the processing dates, otherwise it would be the case complete date. You need to look at the times for each respective Embassy/Consulate, to determine when to start calling. Are you calling the NVC? or the DOS - 202-663-1225?Mike & Yizhen

OK. I am totally baffled. Did you already get notice from NVC that your entire file was complete and done? Or was it that you submitted everything and prematurely and without NVC's final blessing got an April interview date? We filed CR-1 and both petitioner/applicant submitted all required forms and documents. Are you saying we don't have to wait on NVC final word? Did you also contact NVC to get your interview date or the consular? Anxiously waiting for your reply!
