:P ok ok you can have your shrug back! ...but are you saying I have a pear-shaped body type??? :angry:

j/k hehehe

:lol::lol::lol: NUTTER!

Brit-speak Lesson 101: pear-shaped adj. If something has gone pear-shaped it means it's all gone rather wrong. Usually it's meant in a rather jovial sense, in a similar way to the American expression "out of kilter" or "off kilter". You might see it in contexts like "Well, I was supposed to have a civilised dinner with my mates but we had a few drinks and it all went a bit pear-shaped".

Lesson 102 next Tuesday, same time, same palce! :thumbs::D

:D I know what it means, :lol: but I just wanted to be a "nutter", as you would call it, by reading into things that aren't there, as happens many times on VJ... :innocent::lol:

I have learned some british stuff on VJ though! :yes: Like...chuffed, miffed, summat...can't remember what else at the moment. My mind's gone all pear-shaped. :lol:

Charles and Nessa,

Do exactly as you please. Post exactly as you please. As long as you don't violate TOS, pay no need to what others say.

:yes:

I think your posts are sweet, Charles and Nessa.

also...I have learned words from reading C.S. Lewis books my whole life, and now am reading books by George MacDonald and they both use words I don't understand so I end up having to look them up. But it's fun to read the books!

VJ shouldn't have an ignore feature.

People argue less, which takes away from your enjoyment. Right? ;)

ooh ooh one more thing...my Nana is always saying in a fake british accent "by jove you've got it", makes me wanna scream!! :lol: You can't mention any nationalities around her or she'll start saying things in either that accent or language...we especially have to avoid any talk of France or French....she shows off her little bit of french she knows, and she does it over and over and makes us insane. :D

The worst with my Nana is when we are in a Greek restaurant...and she says Greek stuff to the waiter, probably pronounced very badly but she is very sure of herself. She always say kalimalimakis or something that means hello or thank you I am not sure. She only knows probably 3 words but throws them around. Then she tells us for the millionth time how to say this or that. And this happens with Italian, French, Spanish and Greek. :blink: We're like...yeah you've told us...(a billion times) :innocent::hehe: Yet she doesn't know much of any one language, just like 3 words in each.

(I love my Nana but she is a character...definitely not the "normal" grandmother type...she is extremely different than every one of the rest of us in the family...it's weird!!)
