Drink honey and lemon for the cough. Real honey and real lemons not some shop bought mess. It tastes good and it helps sooth and hydrate. Lemons are known for their abillty to boost the immune system.

Crystalized ginger is also good for a cough, but the taste is sometimes overwhelming.

I love crystallized ginger, the really hot natural ginger root kind. Yummy :)

I've been very sick since late Tuesday; missed two days of work so far. Here are my symptoms:

Fever, sometimes feels like I'm burning up.

Sinus drip from my nostrils and backward into my windpipe.

Chest congestion, caused by the above

Unproductive cough; very painful at the front of my throat when I cough...feels like sandpaper.

Body aches,

General weak feeling.

Nausea sometimes; twice prayed to the porcelean god...no food, just stomach acid.

Last #2 since Tuesday Morning.

I'v taken Robitusin DM Max, acetaminophen, and Claritin. Also tried one of Lai's Chinese herbal concoctions...

I feel like I'm dying

Any one have any suggestions? Lai went to the pharmacy to ask, but they were at lunch...

Sinus infection combioned with a cold.Get some antibiotics from your Dr. and you'll be as good as new in 10 days or less.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

If it's a cold anti biotics are just wasted. Wasting antibiotics means they become less affective. Less affective anti-biotics means more superbugs.

However, if there is a genuine infection, antibiotics are a good plan.

I had this exact same thing for almost 2 weeks. I took ibuprofen and lots of showers. Nothing else. Hope you feel better soon :)

Actually, for the last several years, I've noticed a reluctance from my doctor(s) to prescribe to me anything for a cold or the flu. Antibiotics are useless and the doc usually says, if there's no fever, then antibiotics are not even necessary in case you have a minor sinus infection. The average cold lasts about 10 days. There's really nothing your doctor can do for you except to tell you to drink lots of fluids and get plenty of bed rest.

Colds and flu I can understand, my doctor takes the same stance but there are creepy crawly things going around that the Vpacks work really well on, I can speak from experience. I suffered for two weeks and finally went to the doc and was 100% better within a matter of days

Exactly. If it is 'just' a cold there are no other inherent dangers unless of course you are asthmatic. There is however the ever present danger of pneumonia from the flu so just make sure symptoms don't take a dramatic turn for the worse.

Anyway, I am sure he will be just fine really soon :)
