the l.i.f.e act is dead at vsc. so much for "fast reunification of family"

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hey Lisa.

After 6 1/2 weeks, they finally got the packet info straightened out, and sent to the right embassy. Natasha's interview is next Wednesday (3/4). Ironic. Our one-year wedding anniversary is 3/1. She should have been home by now.

Big mix of excitement & bitterness going on. Happy to be here, but am completely disgusted at what it took to get here.

NOTE: For anyone who reads this, and wants to tell me that I should just be grateful to be at this point, and our government owes us nothing, keep your comments to yourself. Unless you know my story, don't even start.

I'll write back on Wed. & let you know how it went. Send all of our friends my love. I hope you are hanging in there. Lots of love to ya.

I'm really not sure why this misconception is so widespread. They don't hold up anybody's approval so that approvals come in order of submission. Petition adjudication has multiple steps and there can be delays at any point. The best they can do is begin processing cases in the date order received. Where they come out the other end of the pipe depends on the individual case.

Or even reading properly my post.

Maybe you don't look at them because you are not in the queue.

I looked at your statistics. It's meaningless to compare the number of products coming out one end without knowing what went in the other end. The misconception I described is just that, a misconception. This is not a one-step automatic process. Cases hit snags, and nobody is holding the fast moving cases while snagged ones catch up. If a case is moving slower than another, it's for a reason.

I'm responding for the benefit of others who can understand the misconception and learn from the clarification, whomever they may be. The toughest part of the visa process is the black hole between NOA1 and NOA2. It doesn't help to obsess over it irrationally.

It's also doesnt help to dimiss people who are waiting and venting.. :D

the facts are that we dont know how many cases were received when ours were. we dont know how many cases hit "snags" . its also a FACT that workers do not work at the same pace. So, its not a fact that if your case is taking longer than others that its because your case has a "snag"

please see the "facts" as posted by a former worker. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...dicator-q-and-a

this may be beneficial to someone in the black hole in the future

I'm not dismissing a person for venting. I'm dismissing useless statistics because they are useless.

I didn't say if your case is taking longer it hit a snag. I said it's "for a reason." The reason could be one of the ones you mention, like being unlucky enough to land on the desk of a slow worker. That's a "reason". Not a reason we want to hear but a reason.
