A file transfer

Dear Comrades,

I went for naturalization interview last week after almost one year excruciating wait. I passed the civic and America history questions. The IO stopped when I answered 6 questons correct. The IO was very nice and told me that I did extremely well.

I was surprised when the officer said that your A-file has been requested this morning. This was big shock to me that my A-file was not transferred after 1 year my N400 application was sitting at USCIS local field office. I could hear my voice inside me, "do you want to tell me that my A-file is just being requested the same morning I am in for interview"? I hope that whatever that delayed my interview date would not delay my A-File transfer. Then, recompose myself with ultimate politeness.

Has anyone experienced A-file transfer or how long it takes to transfer A-File?

Thanks

Tony

Did the officer tell you that you were "approved" or that you had to come back again?

I'm a little concerned reading this because at my daugher's (followed-to-join me as a K-2) AOS interview, her file from the K-2 process was not with my K-1 file (like it normally would be, except she didn't enter at the same time as me and her file was supposed to get attached to mine, but didn't).

I am a US citizen now, but we can't apply for Naturalization for my daughter until November, 2010. I'm hoping she won't have problems like you encountered.

The officer gave me a form with bullet checked "decision cannot be made on your application at this time" and he handwritten on the fom "waiting for A-file". I heard him say, you will hear from me when I receive your A-File.

Sorry that this happened to you... I can understand how frustrated you must be, after waiting so long for the whole immigration process to come to an end.

Hopefully, you will hear something soon.

I'm sure I will have the same problem at the time my daughter Naturalizes because her K-2 file was missing, and I'm not that hopeful that it has been found!!!!!

PM me if you hear anything... I'd be interested to hear how long it took.

Best wishes.
