Basically, rap is profanity claiming to be a music style--and its practitioners are all chops.

That generalization is simply not accurate. There are a lot of prolific rappers who don't blurt out profanity in every sentence.

yeah, like Will Smith... he doesn't have much, if any swearing in his songs..

let's see if any more are named to prove steven right.

taps fingers........

Tupac?

No thanks. I'll stick with a six-pack.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

hip hop isn't rap.......

I never said they were free of swearing..

yes, there is a lot of rap that has a tonne of swearing but there are some that don't swear as much..

also....

Hip hop music is a music genre typically consisting of a rhythmic vocal style called rap which is accompanied with backing beats. The term rap music is often used synonymously with hip hop music.
