Will they let me reschedule my interview

Timeline

Hi guys i need to push my interview date back due to a few personal issues.

I am booked for 10th march .. do you think they will allow me to push it back 3 weeks or so or will they get grumpy with me. I know it say on the letter urgert only.

I dont want to but i am thinking i have to.. and will they want to know why??

Anybody done this before..

1997 - Jess and I met chatting on Mirc and lost touch after a few months

12-22-07 - I tracked Jess down on Myspace and we began to talk daily on IM and telephone

02-29-08 - I flew to New York and we met in person. Amazing - the connection was real

03-11-08 - I flew home - both heart broken yet totally in love.

04-10-08 - I flew back to NY. Asked for fathers blessing.

04-14-08 - I flew home to plot propsal.

05-17-08 - Jess flew to UK - engaged 4 hrs later :-)

05-26-08 - Jess fly's home.

06-13-08 - We contract Immigration attorneys to guide us through the K1 process.

07-03-08 - Jess sends pack to attorneys for checking. (lawyers paperwork)

07-08-08 - Lawyers send out official forms for us to check and sign. Completed same day an returned.

07-09-08 - The big man at the law firm checks our packet for the last time.

07-10-08 - I-129F gets mailed to USCIS VSC

08-01-08 - NOA 1

09-12-08 - Jess has flights booked to the UK.

09-20-08 - Jess fly's home after another amazing visit.

11-26-08 - Dave flew back to NY and is here on an extended visit. Heading back end of feb 2009 unless

Interview comes first :-)

12-04-08 - NOA 2

12-19-08 - Application leaves NVC for London

01-02-09 - P3 leaves embassy...

01-14-09 - No sign of P3...

01-23-09 - Still No P3 - downloaded forms and sent in anyway

01-29-09 - P3 Confirmed receipt at London Consulate.

02-09-09 - DOS confirms interview for 10th March

02-22-09 - Dave Fly's back to UK

02-23-09 - Medical

03-10-09 - Interview

Sorry to hear you need to re-schedule your interview.

From my understanding you will need to give them a good reason for why you need to change it, i expect they won't be best chuffed but if it's unavoidable there's not much you can do!

07/15/2008 I-129f sent to VSC

07/19/2008 I-129f received at VSC

12/09/2008 NOA2 approved

01/13/2009 Medical completed

02/03/2009 Interview - APPROVED!!

02/28/2009 POE Raleigh/Durham

05/02/2009 Official wedding day...get to see the family!

04/11/2009 AOS paperwork sent

04/17/2009 NOA for I-765 & I-131

05/13/2009 Biometrics appointment

05/08/2009 Biometrics done

06/05/2009 EAD & AP approved

06/23/2009 back in the UK

Timeline

Plenty of people have changed their interview dates at the London Embassy successfully. Call the expensive #, get the code and email them your request. Or, you could send them a letter. Either way works.

Just be prepared for the rescheduling to be at their convenience. If you want it 3 weeks later than the original date, it could very well be 5 weeks later.

Don't fret about it too much. I have NEVER heard of anyone getting a hard time fromt he embassy for a date change.

We'd gladly take your interview!!!

If only you could transfer it to someone else... you could then auction it off to the highest bidder. LOL

2008 Dec 01: Sent I-130

2008 Dec 04: Application returned (needed to supply proof of residence in UK)

2008 Dec 08: Sent amended I-130 with evidence

2008 Dec 10: Application filing date

2008 Dec 23: Received letter requesting interview about petition

2009 Jan 22: Appointment at US Embassy (verification of marriage bona fides)

2009 Jan 23: Approval of I-130

2009 Feb 13: Received Packet 3

2009 Feb 16: Returned Packet 3

2009 Feb 24: Medical exam at Knightsbridge Doctors

2009 Mar 05: Received Packet 4

2009 Mar 30: Visa interview - approved

2009 Mar 31: Visa received via SMS courier
