Here's a simple law I would like to see passed, instead of deducting what you pay a tax professional to do your taxes from your INCOME, deduct that directly from what you owe on TAXES.

Maybe then they will simplify the system, 11,000 pages of tax laws and over 1,025 forms is a bit too much. Just on rare occasions and during an election, only one congressman will say we have to simplify our tax system. This is something that faces every working person in the USA, but yet, no one seems to be complaining.

Thought is was great for Obama to appoint that guy to head the IRS that had problems with them, maybe he would do something about it.

My friends think I am stupid for double checking 1099's and W-2's, if I didn't, even this year, would have paid taxes on an additional $12,000.00! And it was really a pain in the a$$ to have those corrected.

Another thing that really burns my a$$ is caps on such things as tuition and property taxes, damn forms were not updated in the last 30 years! So we are paying taxes on taxes. And since they are taxing SS benefits, check out the 1040 form, why are we paying taxes on FICA taxes? And on our savings, why can't we deduct the inflation from that money, not only getting screwed with the government lowering the value of our money, but have to pay taxes on the interest as well!

I am very careful with all of my dealings, but the only people that I feel that are really screwing us, is our government. Why are we letting that happen?

Daughter got screwed out of her $600.00 stimulus check, she earned enough money on her part time job to get it while going through college. But we had to claim her as a dependent to use part of the tuition we paid as a deduction, but since she is over 18, we did not get her 600 bucks. And she couldn't get it because we claimed her as a dependent. I wrote to my congressman about this, and he said this is not right, but nothing was done about it.

Also have to keep a different set of books for sales tax in my business, I don't get a cent of that, but if any errors are found have to pay that plus a fine.

Somewhere between all the time I have to give to the government, free time, have to find time to earn a living.
