Wasn't their a SNL skit where the president kept saying the N word and they would stop him and change it to a new correct term? I laughed.

I'm curious to know if black is still an ok term to use. I always thought if you were an American you were an American if you were an American that came from Africa I could say African American.

Just ask an African American... since he/she would probably be a better source for identity-type answers.

Even if you were a white person from South Africa. Really annoys the Afirmative Action people at universities and such when someone puts down "African" or "African American" (depending on their immigration/citizenship status) on an application, and then when they show up, they are white :P

Only for admissions. And no... the cases I've seen with S. African whites (Durban and Cape Town) is that they are treated based on an international student basis, not a racial one. But yes, there is no legal prohibition on race preferrence to Affirmative Action laws for higher education in the US. The international students of color I've come across, however... have a double whammy when confronting racism here as well as limiting resources available for their studies. Of course... most come from affluent backgrounds anyway so money is not an issue. We make sure of that at the student visa process.

Didn't the attorney general just call out Americans as being "cowards" for not wanting to talk about racism?

This guy went so far as to make a cookie. I would say he should get a cookie for his efforts, but I don't know if the attorney general would agree with me.

You have to admit though that the guy was pretty stupid to do this. I suspect pissing off his customers and the local community did his business the world of good.
