Six-Pack... You need a job over there? I have a Viet Friend that is in Vietnam right now. His family has a trucking company there. He is part owner. If you want... I can give you his cell phone number.

I appreciate the offer, but honestly I don't think I could handle it! I'm getting ready to go rent a motorbike and I'm actually more intimidated than the first time I drove a semi!

It was really nice of you to offer BTW. You really don't see a lot of that on VJ anymore. Maybe LuckyTxn will take you up on it!

Don't think I will but thanks for thinking of me.

It was a joke.

I know. Hey since you are there go find out and take a pic of a lot lizard there and post it.

 I'll keep my eyes open for one.

I have a legitimate beef now. These freaking people pulling out without looking. I'm on my 3rd day riding a motorbike now and the 2nd day with Thuy on the back. We had a guy flip a U turn in front of us and I hit the brakes a little too hard. I slid on the dirt and laid it down! We're both O.K. aside from the skinned leg and arm I have and the bruise Thuy got on her leg.

They did that to me when I was there too. My wife told me that the locals there actually "target" foreigners on purpose when they can tell they are new to riding.

I wouldn't doubt it. I do have a confession though. You may have seen the posts where MP and I refer to Jimbo. He is a fellow Teacher that MP intoduced me to. The night that it happened he said "Use your footbrake more." I said "Footbrake?" I didn't know I had one! I haven't ridden in 23 years, in my own defense.

Freaking Vietnam Government! I just had to pay almost $6000 USD in tax because the freaking Vietnamese government requires to pay tax on worldwide income for expats. I already paid my US taxes now I have to give this corrupt government tax money on income I earned in the US. This freaking sucks. I can't wait to leave this country.

Corrupt government? The whole country is corrupt, right down to the concrete worker who built your house. Even my own sweet wife. Still, they're no worse than the Chinese, and maybe a bit better. Did you ever see my post about how a building gets built in Vietnam? It's scary.

It's just like having me there and you can even turn me off when I get too irritating!

I'm actually adapting well here and don't think I'll be back anytime soon. I have an interview at a private high school in 2 hours. If I get that job we're set. Wish me luck.

You don't have to tell me this whole country is corrupt. I know 1st hand from my employee's that they all steal from me. But it's going to happen, can't fire them since the next guy's going to do the same thing since it's embedded into the culture. This country, the rich people live off the sweat of other people.

Thanks. I got the job.

That's awesome. I'm heading back over in 3 weeks and I will have an interview with a company fixing computers and at an English school that my fiances - friends daughter works at. I'm ready for a change. I think no matter where you go there is corruption. Right now in the. U.S. - there are so many theories and and conspiracies that I don't know what to believe. When in doubt, leave town :D

If the computer gig doesn't work out you can make a living teaching English. The Language School I'm currently at paid up today. They didn't screw around with me and the amount was right, so I'd recommend them. I'm sticking with both jobs at least the next couple of weeks.

You got a place yet? The place we got is pretty sweet for the money and the landlords appear to be honest.
