This info is 5 years old:

Yes, you can get a quick USA marriage visa while living & working in VN

I got a marriage paper in VN (through VNs Gov't), held a small ceremony at my wife's house, and submitted for the CR1 marriage visa and my wife got her interview & visa within 4 months. You need to prove residency & your work (for the past year) when you apply for her visa.

HCMC, USA Consult has a office on the 9th floor of the DutchBank Building (same place that has Maximart on the second floor) a tall grey building on Le Loi Street downtown. Go up there and ask.......

FYI

At least you blend in! I went to a carnival last night where I felt like the main exhibit. I told Thuy that we should set up a tent with a living area for me. We could charge 10K Dong to come and see the American in his natural habitat.

Six Pack... Are you in Vietnam now? Have you decided to remain? Fellow Driver here...

Six-Pack... You need a job over there? I have a Viet Friend that is in Vietnam right now. His family has a trucking company there. He is part owner. If you want... I can give you his cell phone number.

Thanks Patricks,

I'm hoping things will go smooth and fast. I'm getting married in just 2 more weeks and should have the marriage certificate and everything ready to drop off the following Monday. I'll be counting the days after that.

Actually, I was starting to think it was going to take at least a year and I might as well move again. Anyone ever live in District 4? I found this great 3 bedroom house for $600 and the landlord speaks English.

I appreciate the offer, but honestly I don't think I could handle it! I'm getting ready to go rent a motorbike and I'm actually more intimidated than the first time I drove a semi!

Shoot I wouldn't drive a 18 wheeler in Vietnam, They seem to not have any safety standards at all. They let their tires go bald and they don't keep up with maintaining the brakes.

It was really nice of you to offer BTW. You really don't see a lot of that on VJ anymore. Maybe LuckyTxn will take you up on it!

As Jimbo might put it, I can't imagine who would want to drive a lorry in Vietnam by choice.

Well if you want to be King of the Road here it's the perfect job. Those guys don't stop for sh!t.

That's only because the equipment no longer has any brakes. The horn still works, though.

I was just telling Jimbo the other day that I am going to invent a better horn. I am going to call the company The Lucky, #1, California, Super Horn Company. They'll sell like hot cakes.
