I suppose that's the difference between our countries. We'll die for what we believe in. Your right in that she shouldn't have killed him or at least I don't think she should have had to be the ONE to kill him.

Revenge is pretty universal - though this is a pretty extreme case of it.

I think applauding that behaviour is pretty appalling - for all the "he got what he deserves" satisfaction that is being expressed, the woman is going to pay a heavy price for it.

I'd like to put words in your mouth but I can't. I can see you aren't defending the guy, but arguing that she should not have set fire to him for vengeance. How would you have dealt with it in her position and what do you think SHOULD have been done by either her, her family, or the government?

I'd probably have wanted to kill the guy if it were me...

Needless to say of course a person at their worst isn't in a frame of mind to make the best decisions. That's the point of the justice system.

Either way - whether you or I empathise with the woman's predicament isn't really relevant. Noone can justify what she did.

Well said about "Needless to say of course a person at their worst isn't in a frame of mind to make the best decisions. That's the point of the justice system."

However if the vast majority of the population can justify his death *They being in an unbiased state of mind. Why should he NOT be killed. Or is it the means in which she killed him?

Because she acted outside the law.

I respectfully disagree. The law needs to be changed. Not a lot but enough to stop letting OJ get away with cold blooded murder and then saying the man that rapped a girl and taunted the mother about it has rights. He gave his rights up she didn't take them away from him.

I have a HUGE problem with a man that kills 31 hookers and gets life and a man that kills from a one person is given death. I have a HUGE problem with a man that rapes his wife's mentally retarded sister and then gets out in 7 years then goes and rapes his OWN daughter and kills her.

The law is not an #######, the interpretation of the law can be a ####### though.

Be that as it may, unless you are a duly appointed executioner, taking life is not your job, ergo, she broke the law.

It's very sad, very sad indeed. It is pure speculation on any of our parts as to why the Spanish justice system did what it did that resulted in the mother being faced by the accused, particularly if his jail time was not complete. However sorry one feels for this woman, however just you think the death of the accused is, the manner of his dispatch was unlawful.

I have a sneaky suspicion that some people do want some kind of 'trial' by internet, based on stories we read in the media. Now that really would be a travesty of justice.

Can we do that? Sentence him to a lifetime without internet. IS there such a thing? I think not!

Two wrongs don't make a right.

well now that you've put your two cents in I can see that you have a strong argument for being no punishment at all. I mean who is the "LAW" to justify punishing anyone.

There should be laws and punishment, otherwise we will be over-run with child rapers and people setting them on fire.
