Good morning, my friends, good evening to those of you in America. It's Saturday morning here in Davao, time to just take it easy, no need to toil at work; in other words, it's a day where you can do what your heart pleases and nobody will fault you for anything that goes awry.

The weather is okay, a little on the humid side but bearable as always. It's probably 25C outside and might reach 30C today. The fishermen who spent most of the night at sea are now back ashore and the bariles (tuna fish) should now be aplenty at the public market. I will be on my way to the market to get a piece of the catch as we plan to lunch on kinilaw na bariles. I will also get me some fruits and veggies, such as alagbati, cucumbers and Cavendish bananas.

IS it really taglish? "tag" as in tagalog or something else? coz if its tagalog, then you are not speaking taglish!

Hi SJ,goodmorning:)oh yes most of us are from the provinces,but i many of us lives in manila area,i spent almost my entire life overseas and manila,but i still speak my local dialect though

I was born and raised in the north, (Isabela) but I lived in Manila (Sampaloc and Valenzuela) when I went to college, worked three jobs, then I met my husband and then got married in the United States. I consider myself as an adopted daughter of Quiapo and Sampaloc. Quiapo was my happy place because I always go to Quiapo church mostly on Friday afternoons. Valenzuela City was another home when I wanted the peace and quiet.

i was born in oras, eastern samar. i lived in tacloban, leyte until i was seven and lived in taguig, metro manila for nearly 15 yrs. hubby was born in sto tomas, batangas and was raised in tanauan, batangas. he then lived in las vegas until he joined the navy. now we reside in oak harbor, wa.

During bus rides between Ilocos Sur and Manila many years ago during my college years, I always covered my nose as the bus passed by a certain town in Bulacan. This town could have been Valenzuela or Polo or Meycauayan. I am not sure now but the smell of leather that filled the air in this town is still vivid in my recollection. Rocky or Mj, please refresh my memory, is this town Valenzuela or Meycauayan?

Also, there was another town in Bulacan that was famous for having been stigmatized by innuendos of sexual titillation because it was a haven for nightclubs, cabarets and dance halls. This town is Bocaue, and I am sure of this because I have been there quite a few times before. However, I don’t know if these “hospitality” places still exist in Bocaue.

You are most welcome manika,and sorry for the confussions hahahha,as far as i remember we have 13 major dialects in the philippines,correct me people if i am wrong ...Naw (hain ka dinhi ha US)??i want to guess that...that could be,where are you in the US?nasa pinas pa lang ako manika,kung swertehin maybe next year....God bless...
