Hello my friends,

Here is my situation, my income is enough to be a sponsor, I can easy get a letter from my employer, paystubs, copy of my 2007, 2008 W2’s.

As evidence “A” a letter from my bank, I have maybe a $1000 in the bank, can it be a problem for me?

Thank you.

From what you say you should be fine. If the income passes the poverty line test then the bank balance isn't too important.

No problem.

If your income exceeds 125% of the poverty level you do not even need a bank letter. The bank letter is not so much to vouch for your current balance, but to back up your stated income. If your annual deposits are in the same neighborhood as your claimed income, it is a good bet you are truthful. It is more important for self employed people. I used one because the previous year I had been self employed for most of the year (2007) and it helped to verify my income for that year. They never looked at the letter in Kiev. They used my then "current" income which was supported by check stubs and employer letter. And to be truthful they didn't even look at that! In your case it sounds like you have it covered and you do not even need the bank letter, you can just leave those parts of the I-134 blank.

When I went to the interview, they looked breifly at the I-134, glanced at the 2007 tax return, detached evrything else and gave it back to me, keeping only the I-134. I had made a separate one for my wife's son. The man asked "Is it all the same?" When I answered yes he said he didn't need it. But the rules say to have one for each person applying for a visa so I would not suggest you go without it if children are involved.

You are in fine shape so long as you meet the guidelines for income. Lack of assets only proves that you are a loyal USC, dedicated to stimulating the economy
