Wow you rock the mermaid dress! Not many women could pull off the mermaid look... I'd look like a beluga.

Awesome pics! I think religious and cultural ceremonies are so interesting.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

My favorite picture is now my avatar. Moongates are beautiful and I love the idea that couples are supposed to stand under them and make a wish for their future.

I've posted this link in another thread but since the wedding was last Monday and I'm still excited about them, here's the link again: Our wedding

The beach in the background of the pics is stunning. I'm always blown away when I see a pristine beach with clear water like that. Our beach water is green here. Science says it's the plankton in the water blah blah blah, but I know better. It's ugly :(

The wedding was perfect. It was pretty small. One of the pictures has Phil and I and all our guests but one. My Uncle Bruce was taking the photo. he's one of the best photographers on the island so our pictures were oue wedding present.

The pictures where Phil and I were standing on rocks were taken at a park a few minutes down the road. The moongate pictures where taken a small hotel nearby. Everything else was at Dad's house.

We had a tea party type reception afterwards complete with a couple of waiters. The food was awesome and my new US family discovered the wonders of scones and clotted cream. The only drawback was that the caterer had promised some vegan sandwiches. I had carefully explained that my BIL coulsn't eat any meat products including fish, eggs and dairy. She promised grilled veggie sandwiches but when they arrived they had mayo on them. Luckily, I had falafels in the kitchen for later on so Sean didn't starve.

We're having a Bermuda night here at the Club tonight and I keep thinking of you.

Your wedding pictures are GORGEOUS! Wow to swim in water where you can go waist deep and still see your feet... I have yet to live that moment. :P

If I may offer a bit of advice to all new brides and grooms on a tight budget; sometimes Craigslist is an excellent place to find a satisfactory photographer. Many photographers have no desire to be full time wedding photographers and only wish to pickup a few extra dollars. Sometimes, good photographers are students and do weddings to provide money. I would certainly not pay top dollar for someone unproven but you should be able to find a decent photographer for 3-5 hundred. Most of us can find that much spare change.

I speak from experience. I was a published wildlife photographer and did weddings on an as needed basis; ie; when I needed money to tide me between checks from magazines-I would agree to do a wedding.
