Hello everyone... I apologize in advance in if I have posted this topic in the wrong section.

Ok so my Step Daughter had her interview 2/24 in Manila. For some reason they gave her the 221g requesting more evidence of relationship to my wife, her mother, Baptismal records, prenatal records, more photos, and more letters. I won't go into too many more if the details unless this is message is unclear, just let me know....

anyway We have just about all of the necessary documents, my question is; Is it better to deliver in person as an option on the 221g or Mail in by certified carrier as another option??

I was leaning toward the delivering in person because most of the documents requested are originals...

They also gave her passport back, so she has to return it with the additional docs....

Anyway, what do you all think... Its an added expense ( flight, hotel, Companion fees)

I’ve also heard that they won’t make a decision for some time anyway. It could be weeks if not months after these docs are turned in right?

thanks!!

Tough one!

I think I'd go with delivery in person in case there were additional questions. Also losing her passport may screw things up.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Yes, in person if possible.

Ya I know, I'm still not sure... We going to 7pm Ash Wednesday mass... so hopefully the big guy upstairs can help us decide as well....

I am still kind of leaning towards the in person delivery, cause I have read in some rare cases, there is a small chance they will send her to the waiting area and come back with the Visa in hand. Or possibly even have her come back the following morning with the same result, visa in hand...

We are sending in alot of personal, private and Irreplaceable correspondence and photos, so we would be devastated if they lost that stuff...

So the decision is to deliver in person. I would hate to have anything lost in the mail or Air21 service, especially the irreplaceable items.

I know the wait can depend on a million variables..... But what kind of a time frame turnaround is best to keep in mind.... probably not days... how many weeks or Months? For an IR-2 will a second interview have to be scheduled? or will they just review and approve after enough evidence is supplied?

This website is great thanks for all of the help...

just as an FYI, I called the embassy a few times at the Tel. No. : (632) 301-2000 extension 5184, hit the 0 if it goes to the person is busy operator, and got through about 80% of the time... the women on the phone was very pleasant and helpfull... Lorraine if recall correctly... just information for those needing to call the US embassy Manila....
