I voted that I am smarter, but my response was limited by the availability of options.

I think it's inherently difficult to determine what "intelligence" is and how to gauge it. I only voted myelf as more smart because I'm about to graduate from UCLA with honors and he never graduated from university. But that's not the only way to determine intelligence. I think he is more intuitive sometimes, and more poetic and artistic than I am. He is a great musician and I can't play any instrument. We both have our strenghts and weaknesses and I think that his strengths compliment my weaknesses and vice versa.

This union is much more equally distributed than my previous relationship, which I ended because I was intellectually bored to tears. Gustavo really makes me think and has an interesting viewpoint to contribute to our interactions which keeps me coming back. I may have more formal education, but I recognize his intelligence even though he doesn't have a degree. My ex had a degree, but it was from a sub-par university and he mostly got Cs. He certainly didn't challenge me like Gustavo does.

But he's smarter in matters of the world like history etc and I am mor smart when it comes to nutrition and street smarts... We have own own definite intelligence - thats why we complete each other so well

This poll is quite limited, IMO. I voted "We are more or less in the same range" but I would not dare say we're equally smart in the same subjects. Oh, definitely not. He is far superior in some areas, and in others, I'm the superior one. A great relationship, in my opinion, is one where you balance and compliment each other. If you say you're smarter, I'd say you sound cocky, and you're not giving your SO enough credit. On the other hand, if you say you're dumber than your SO, I'd say you need some more self-confidence.
