Hey VJ!

Here's a question for ya...

I derive an annual income of...

I make 27.34 an hour which when you add it up is aprox. $58,000 per year

I am an over-time hound, and pick up as much overtime as my body allows.

For my 2008 W-2 I made $82000.00

Question is, do I put what was on the 2008 W-2, or what I would make with my hourly wage 40hrs a week?

Yes, I am submitting filed 2008 1040 and past years W-2's and Transcripts of past 1040's.

Thanks in advance...you guy's have been so helpful!!

In your shoes, I would declare the W2 income on the I-134 but either is likely to be fine.

I have almost an exactly same scenario. I derive a salary and bonuses, like overtime, not gauranteed. I am a "bonus hound" I go after those deadlines and try to beat them, I go after those budgets and try to come in under and do pretty well. When I filled out my I-134 last july I stated my salary PLUS the anticipated bonuses. My employer wrote a letter, stated base salary and that I was eligible for bonuses and that I was currently earning at a rate of $xx,xxx for the year. I wrote the letter, he had his secretary type it on letterhead and he signed it. I took my bonuses to date (July) divided by 7 and multiplied the result by 12 and added it to the salary. It actually came out being very close at the end of the year and certainly was NOT a misrepresentation. Though it was an unnecessary excerise, my base salary was more than enough. You can do the same with your overtime. Base wage x 2080 = base annual income. OT to date when you do the I-134 divided by number months x 12.

But really, unless you have a family size of 12 or so, your basic wage is plenty.
