Home in New Haven right now, awaiting delivery of a bacon and onion pie, drinkin' a beer. Bliss.star_smile.gif

I miss LA weather though -- too hot and sticky here. Think I need another beer to get over this issue. *hic*

Just found this nugget of weirdness on the FB wall of one of my Tory friends back in Oxford, on the election of the Conservatives last month:

You've got to bear in mind the last election I paid any attention to was 1997, at Central Office. After that Hell, which I was reliably informed featured my ranting on all fours from under a desk at William Hague about the scandal of losing Wolverhampton South-West (Enoch's old seat), the first election New Labour loses is kinda cathartic.

I can talk about yours if you like. Do you prefer Prep H or Tucks?

Ooooh, they gave me Tucks in the hospital after I had my first child. They were a Godsend. For the 'roids and for the episiotomy. The doctor didn't wait for the freezing to take affect before making the incision. He took 3 strokes. I know because I screamed with each one. Yeah. Good times. <_<

It's quite palatable and provides that trademark Metamucil *zing!* If only they had a non-sugar-free version, it would be perfect. For now, I must settle whatever artificial sweetener they put in it.

Try psyllium husk powder in capsule form. It's the same stuff. I use that because I can't get the Metamucil down. I recently picked up Citrucel in caplet form. That stuff's pretty good also.

it worked for my ex, but then again, he was an azzhole...

Good one.

Oooh. Important point for potential tucks users! Buy witch hazel and put it on cosmetic pads. FAR cheaper solution than buying tucks. They use the same ingredient. Oh, and witch hazel on cosmetic pads shrinks zits too. You've got to apply it to the zit, though. :hehe: Tip of the day. lol

The only downside with that stuff is it can dry your skin, not that that's really a problem if you use it just on small problem areas, it definitely helps. I never thought of applying just the ingredient, always get suckered into expensive stuff with pretty packaging...doh

I know there aren't any other nerdlings on VJ (not that I've seen anyway) but I've been working flat out on this commission lately and I just finished it today. I'm so haaaaappyyyyy I've had serious burnout since I've been working several months continuously without a break (apart from squeezed a few hours of gameplay over memorial day when I shouldn't have been).

Now I'm gonna do some house work (the place looks like a tip :( ), fix dinner early and finally take a small break...before the next one lol

Hey so I just came back from the docs, (preg visit, and all is well btw)....but I've been having a breakout on my face lately that is incredible. So I asked him what I can do...and he told me LAMASIL cream for the face.

Will try it and update you guys if it works or not.

Awesome!! How many weeks are you now? Lamasil, eh? That's kind of odd! Isn't that an anti fungal? I'll be very curious to hear your results.

I'm 27 right now. He said hormones and the heat are big factors. I've always had great skin, but the past year or so have had to deal with the occasional pita eruption  But this month, omG what a mess!

When he said 'lamasil' I was like 'erm, isn't that foot stuff???' I find it odd too, but I've tried the proactiv and all that other stuff, and nothing's working. Already have applied some today, lol.

Oh yeah, that Fla. heat and humidity can NOT be helping. I haven't battled the acne too bad (knock on wood). I use Arbonne so I tend to never break out anyway.

27 weeks was right about where I started feeling better. I remember it well! LOL

My stomach has popped so much this week, it's really almost unbelievable to me. And I'm never comfortable anymore. I'm getting into that 'cranky/kvetchy' mood now. LOL

eta: let's not even get into the heat down here!
