I very much like the stoned giraffe.

Tracy, how was the shower? Did anyone feel the need to give a detailed account of her episiotomy?

Oh...I forgot to mention that Jon's mum has procured baby's first blanket. She went to some outdoor film festival and they were giving away Stella (Artois) blankets. So, little Limita so far has a beer-themed blanket and a demented lamb.

 Nothing like that at either shower, so I'm thrilled!! I still keep getting a lot of 'sleep now' and 'you have no idea what you're in for' kind of comments - but that's what I hear every day so nothing new there....

Something tells me we're going to have all kinds of weird stuff.

In other news, Jon thinks it would be funny if we dressed her mostly in black (onesies and such, preferably w/ skull & crossbones).

That's a relief! About the episiotomies, anyway.

A couple of weeks ago, we visited friends of ours who had their first kid last October. The mom is quite a relaxed personality and talked matter-of-factly about their parenting experiences so far, but the dad is rather hyper and is prone to verbal diarrhea. He kept saying to Jon, "You're EXACTLY where I was a year ago! I was so clueless! I couldn't even imagine..." blah blah blah. And he actually said to me, "Your body image is TOTALLY going to change!" #######? A guy is telling me this? All I could think of to say was, "Yeah, that's my modeling career down the toilet."

Now I know what to make Limita for her layette set.

Your response was priceless  Uh yeah I'm a little surprised to hear a guy say that - makes me wonder if his wife's body image issues put a damper on their 'late night' activities...!

I just can't get over all this armchair advice. I will not do that to first time moms going forward unless they specifically ASK me for it...

I'm hearin a ton of advice too, which kinda annoys me....but I try to understand that they think they are helping, so eh, no use making a big deal about it.

But someone touched my belly the other day. Me no likey.

Shower gift idea?
