Um, why does this thread piss you off? The title? I was just taking the piss since there are so many narrowly categorized groups forming this thread and that thread, so I was just trying to mock that "we belong in this little box" mentality.

If you guys were K1 filers, why do you refer to your SO as your husband during that process? You should have filed K3 (in 2007) or the IR-1.

If your husband can't be arsed to file the petition on your behalf, perhaps, as tracy suggested, its time for you to move on.

I'm chiming in too, cos that post confused me as well.

More info!

Update on me: We're still planning the wedding, there have just been too many things in the way, or else we would have been married by now. It'll be this month or next month on his summer break from school. (Don't ask about his school, it's a ridiculously crazy full time 6 day schedule that changes monthly and drives us both crazy). Even tho we're not planning a big thing, we don't want to have to get married on his lunch break, LOL.

Baby's coming along fabulously! We found out last week that it's a boy! As I just turned 37, we're 'high risk' which means lots more tests, etc...last week's sono was to check his measurements, check for visible birth defects, etc...and all is well, thank God!

I also just earned a professional designation, completed yesterday. I'm now a CDPE, which means Certified Distressed Property Expert (read: preforeclosures). I'm stoked, and very proud! I think the knowledge that I've gained can help people immensely, I can service my customers better now, and hopefully even use this designation to market myself more to gain more business. But days in a classroom for 8 hours for a preggo woman is not easy, lolz.

Anyhoo, that's me caught up. Hope all is well with everyone! Elm- LOVE the license plate!!!! Have guys started yelling at you yet?? 'Hey Elm!' ;) I've had a personalized tag pretty much my whole life, and from time to time it gets annoying when that happens...specially cos my name is part of it, so of course, I turn to look, thinking it might be a friend, past customer, etc. Since I drive a 2 seater, the man and I are going to switch cars when I get too big for it, so I'm finally laying my tag to rest sometime this summer. Can't have him in a car with 'Lisa' on the back, hahahaha.

Hi, ladies

I have news--we're expecting a rugrat in October.

Lisa, I'm an "old lady" too. I'll be 37 at the time of delivery (my b-day is in July). So far, so good. I had an NT scan & bloodwork in April that looked good. I'm waiting on blood test results for the AFP test and have the anatomy scan--the one where they make sure everything is OK and can usually tell the sex--on May 21.

I'm finally starting to feel some improvement physically. I've basically felt awful since about week 7. I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow and still feel queasy. I've also had bad headaches and major fatigue. The second-trimester glow that everyone talks about seems to be passing me by. Howevah, feeling not so great has kept me from freaking out about the reality that if all goes well, I'll be a momma in a few months. A friend of mine asked me the other day, "Wow! So, are you getting your head around the huge life change coming?" And I said, "No, I just want to stop feeling sick all the time."

:)

Wow! Congrats Empress! Your very own Joyce fetus!!!! tongue.gif I relate to the sickness you describe. I have 3 kids and was sick pretty much the whole pregnancy for each. :dead: The good news is that I was rewarded with easy, natural child births. star_smile.gif

I hope you will get some relief from the sickness soon. smile.gif You'll have to share with us your choice of nursery colors - harvest gold, avocado green or??? I can't wait to hear all about it!! I'll see if the maven can knit you some baby booties in 70s colors! And that fondue pot of your will come in handy for heating the bottle, but do lay off the G&Ts!! laughing.gif

Send me colours for baby booties! Congrats on the Joyce fetus -- was that prescient or what?

Since I am unlikely ever to spawn, all knitted tiny things (which are terribly fun to make) must go to others' sprogs. I have a cat, but even I am not foolish enough to put knitted garments on him. My favourite recent finished object is a woolly mammoth tea cosy.

Thanks, ladies!

Yes, I must have known that a fetus was forthcoming last year when I asked Len to to create a Joyce fetus.

Actually, I've been toying with the idea of--er--making my signature a little less annoying and glittery, but since Darnell divulged yesterday that he hides signatures all because of me, I'm tempted to leave it as is. And of course, now that there's an actual fetus, minus helmet, would it somehow be unlucky if I change things now? Hmmm...

Julez, this will be the grooviest baby, like, evah! I think that maize synthetic diapers might be hard to find. All this nonsense about breathability!

I wonder if junior will appreciate a disco ball instead of a mobile?

This in itself would be a call to me, at least, to make sure my sig was the blingiest on VJ, and to make sure every reply I made in a thread where Darnell was posting had a blingtastic graphic embedded in the post itself, not just the sig. But then, I'm a b!tch. :D

I have to say, I was quite taken aback that anyone would see the fabulous sparkly Joyces (especially the Joyce fetus) as anything other than the ultimate in coolness. I will consider adding highly distracting bling to future posts no matter what the subject.
