I just filed. After lots of futzing around with correcting errors with TurboTax inserting schedules we didn't need, I finally did it. I managed to write down over $8000 in deductions so even though I am still paying taxes it's much, much lower than it was originally. Let's just say that it really pays to be self-employed sometimes. ;)

Now I am going to drink another beer and ponder the nature of taxation.

No, I wish! I managed to rack up an obscene amount on business travel and entertainment last year. When I saw the figure I thought: if I spent that much on entertainment, how come I didn't have that much fun?

I did manage to write off a few drinks and dinners with VJ pals though since we did discuss my business development and/or I was on a business trip to London so I got to deduct those as genuine travel expenses... :ph34r: So thank you to StP, Aly, Pointy, Robin and dev for helping me knock a few hundred off my tax bill.
