Wait 180 days *after transfer* before inquiring about your case

I was wondering whether the current projected 6 month processing time for I-751s at CSC would apply to the new transfers from VSC.

The hotline says to wait 6 months after the transfer before inquiring about your case, which I guess would mean that the transfers could have a wait of an additional 6 months before approval. That would make total wait time for us about 15 months.

We would have been able to inquire about our cases earlier had we not been transferred.

When I called and spoke to a live person she just asked for the NOA date and calculated the 6 months from there.

I'm also concerned about the clock starting over at CSC since they have '6 months' - just as VSC is slowly getting to the summer of last year's applications...

AOS: ND - June 5 2006 | RFE - June 15 2006 | FP Notice - June 30 (Rescheduled to Sept 16) | AP ND - August 14 2006| Walk-in FP - Sept 5 (FP cleared next day!) | Interview - Sept 8 2006 (Approved!) | Welcome Letter - Sept 13 | EAD received - Sept 19 (kinda moot since I'm waiting for GC) | GC received - Sept 23 2006 - Woohoo!!

I-751: 06/10/08 Mailed package to VSC direct (per memo instructions) not TSC. The wait begins... | 06/11/08 Package received at VSC (12.12pm) | 06/19/08 Check cashed | 06/20/08 Received NOA1 in the mail - ND is 06/17/08 | 07/10/08 Received Biometrics Appt Letter - ND is 7/7/08 | 07/22/08 Biometrics (had to do ink & paper also...) | 07/22/08 Touched | 07/23/08 Touched | 02/11/09 Transferred to CSC (got email)... | 02/12/09 Touched | 02/20/09 Touched (but no email) | 03/24/09 Approval letter arrives in the mail! Approval date is 3/18/09 from VSC | 04/03/09 Received card, postmarked 3/31 from CSC

N-400: 06/11/09 Mailed to Lewisville Lockbox | 06/12/09 Package received at Lockbox and signed for at 1.31pm | 06/18/09 Check Cashed | 06/19/09 NOA, PD 06/12/09 | 07/06/09 Biometrics letter received, ND is 07/02/09 | 07/24/09 Biometrics appointment | 08/06/09 IL received, ND 08/03/09 | Interview 09/14/09 at 9.30am (approved!) | Oath 10/21/09 | USC

I just got an automated response from my subscription to the USCIS status updating service that informed me that my case was transferred to CSC. It's quite annoying, but I am glad I found this forum and saw that other people also had to experience this inconvenience.

Jenn! - did you get the snail mail notice of transfer yet? I'm starting to get concerned that I didn't receive one yet... We moved at the beginning of the month... so I'm worried they haven't processed the address change for the pending app...

No I was not - sorry, I guess what I was trying to say is: If you call them about the status I would just give them the NOA date and see what they say.

I see. Yes, you're right, it doesn't hurt to try. I'm just not optimistic given that they were so explicit in their wording in the recorded message about not inquiring until 180 days after the transfer.

I did get the snail mail. It was postmarked 2/17.

You might not get yours due to the timing of your move. I would hope though that they will process the address change before your approval! I can't remember exactly, but I think it took us at least few weeks to receive confirmation of the address change.

I am concerned too, especially since I saw someone who filed in Oct 08 getting approved at VSC. We've been waiting over 8 months now and it's just so frustrating. I got the snail mail confirmation of the transfer at our new address (we moved too) so you might want to call them and make sure they have your new address on file correctly.

I am just so sick of waiting, it's mentally draining at this point.

Hopefully you guys will get "lucky" as some people have been getting approved in less than 2 months from the NOA1.

We just got approved yesterday, no interview, but it took 5 months. Mainly due to a RFE.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

you can check the VSC status thread.

1daysoon.............10/14/08..........10/18/08........11/28/08........02/23/09

Thanks. Looks like people aren't always updating the most recent version.

Anyway, that seems like quite the anomaly.
