To all my VJer,

Anyone who recently got approved for Visa or waiting for there interview, can you please list documents you guys took or will take with you for the interview? This will help all of us who are still waiting for interview.

xx-xx-2012: Passport application sent

I-130 petition for Sibling

07-19-2012: Sent I-130 via Priority mail

07-23-2012: I-130 received by PHX lbx (forwarded to california)

07-23-2012: Priority date

07-30-2012: I-797 receipt received

1. CR1 [Completed: 2009/Total Days: 325]

2. ROC [Completed: 2011/Total Days: 222]

3. CITIZENSHIP [Completed: 2012/Total Days: 125]

4. US PASSPORT [Completed: 2012/Total Days: ]

I have the following list from LotsofPatience

Required documents:

a) Visa interview appointment letter

B) Applicant’s Original passport

c) Applicant’s 4 photographs

d) Courier office receipts, if applicable

e) Medical Report for Step# 3

f) Excessive evidence to prove marital relationship in addition to the marriage certificate.

This can be wedding album, honeymoon pictures, email/chat/phone records, joint bank account/joint property ownership etc.

g) I-130 set, I-864, DS-3032 and DS-230 sets provided by the petitioner

h) Applicant’s all identities such as Driver license, Voter’s registration card etc.

i) Applicant’s all education, employment and all personal files

• Please refer to your consulate immigrant visa section for more details.

• Consulate will have all your originals submitted to NVC. Please do not forget to collect all your originals back after the interview.

• Appear at the consulate little earlier than the interview time.

• Chose the nice attire for the interview.

• Listen the officer carefully and answer properly to the question. Do not provide extra information, other than the right answer. Also, be polite to the officer and tell the truth for all questions.

• Organize the files in the order of interview checklist or packet 4.

• Always take 1 additional photocopy of ALL the documents, that include submitted to NVC too.

• Read the forms (I-130, G-325A of the petitioner and the beneficiary, I-864, DS-3032 and DS-230) carefully, so that your answers to the officer’s questions must match whatever written on the forms.

• The visas are affixed inside each passport and the applicant is given a sealed envelope which should be hand carried, UNOPENED, to the United States and submitted to the immigration inspector at the U.S. port-of-entry. If the sealed envelope is opened prior to arrival in the United States, the immigrant visa fee of $400 must be paid again at the American Consulate, and a new sealed envelope will be handed over to the applicant.

• Please fill everything in CAPITAL letters and BLACK ink, if required.

• All dates are in the format MM/DD/YYYY (ie. for Aug 15, 2001, write 08/15/2001)

• All names must be as in the passport.

• Both Index fingers should not have any cut or wound since there may be fingerprinting at Consulate and Port of Entry.

• Do not fold any of the documents, please take a large envelope (A4 size or letter size)

• Please refer to interview general questions at the bottom of this document on page# 3.
