On the 325a form, the( File Number A#) and the( Alien Registration Number) are the same? It is the A# as found on the

NOA2? It is to be listed on the 325a in the upper right corner block under FILE NUMBER A#,and in lower right block as ALIEN REGISTRATION NUMBER ? In other words it is the same number in both blocks?

Thanks for replies

That is correct. A number is short for Alien Registration number. It's also on the visa and I-94 I think.

Yes, the A# and Alien Registration # are the same thing. You will find the number on the NOA2.

+1 The normal places for the A number is on the NOA2, on the visa, and handwritten on the back of the I-94.

Yes, same number for both blocks: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-G-325A-aos.pdf

J1 has no Alien number

K1 sometimes doesn't print the A Number on the visa. The Irish Embassy doesn't. But you will always find it on your NOA2. Its a 9(?) digit number preceded by an A.
