Thanks to all for telling me how to save money,and not really answering my question.

Your question was answered back at the beginning of the thread. Yes you can file after your I-94 has expired, many have and have been approved with no problems. You will be out of status and if you were to be stopped and your immigration status was questioned you could be detained and taken to immigration court and deported.

The advice you were given was to file as soon as you can and if necessary borrow the money from friends or family.

03/18/13 In-line for inteview
