My ring doesn't fit sometimes because my fingers are too puffy and I'm not even pregnant... it feels odd not to have the rings on then! Hang it on a chain round your neck if you want to take it to the interview, otherwise don't worry about it... there are much more important indicators of your relationship than whether you're traditional enough to wear a ring :)

I'd do the necklace or just take it with you in the little ring box (is that what they are called?). Make sure the husband wears his ring! I've read of adjudicators wanting to see the rings and see if they match.

Why'd you take it off to begin with?

Does this mean you haven't actually worn it since before your pregnancy, but b/c of the interview coming up soon, you're now worried about it being an issue though?

What an insensitive #####. I guess he's never been pregnant. ;)

Dmartmar, just because your marriage broke down and you feel cheated doesn't mean every other immigrant on this forum is out to screw their USC spouse. Take your bitterness somewhere else. Get some counseling. Do something constructive. If you're like this in real life, you're never going to find another woman to have a relationship with, let alone marry.

I'm not bitter, nor do I feel cheated. I'm way past that and over it already.

But when I got married, my 1st time ever at that, it never ever crossed my mind taking my wedding ring off for whatever reason, be it justified or not.

And when/if I get married again (I do intend do so again), I won't take it off either, regardless of the circumstance(s).

I don't usually respond to such nonsense, but for the sake of the OP I'm responding,

Dmartmar, It is quite odvious you have a hang up of some sort, and have no clue about pregnancy. It is not uncommon for OBGYN docs to make their paitents take off their rings in the 6 or 7 month just as a percaution... Mine did for both my children, and good thing she did or I would have had to have my sooooo very special wedding ring cut from my finger, how horrible that would have been.

Then let's give the OP the "benefit of the doubt" and assume she took off the wedding ring in her 6th or 7th mo. of pregnancy just as a precaution, b/c her OBGYN Dr. ordered her to do so.

dmartmar, you are just too clueles! ;) In case you are not aware, pregnant women have been known to gain weight so the rings don't fit!

When my husband and I went for our appointment, I didn't notice if she looked at our wedding rings or not. We do wear them but I don't think it was an issue. We brought everything with us and she didn't want to see a thing. She asked my husband the routine questions that were already on the form you fill out for adjustment and then looked over our file on her desk and said they had everything in order and we were approved. I hope your interview is as easy. If you are really concerned, take it with you. I am sure they will understand. Not everyone exchange rings.

I have heard of them asking about wedding rings. And also (on a related issue) asking to see both sets of housekeys, making sure they match up, so I would go with the necklace idea and don't forget your keys! I know a lot of the time as we are running out the door together, we just make sure we have one set between the 2 of us, but will be sure to bring both when our interview comes around! Good luck!

Ahhhh yes, the ring issue. See, this topic is quite sad to me. That a materialistic thing is what "proves" that you're in love and married. Some people just don't wear rings. It would be quite pathetic for an adjudicator to deny someone based on whether or not the couple is wearing rings!! In Patrick and my case I wear my rings, but Patrick doesn't. I like wearing it, he doesn't. As a matter of fact, I don't like him wearing it. Jewlerey doesn't suit him so I prefer him not to wear it. We don't need some object to prove our love for one another. That's my view on that.

Considering you're pregnant I wouldn't worry about bringing the ring. Why put on a facade?
