By the way what is the best way to confirm that the Manila embassy has received my file I am calling from the US. It looks like there is a pay number 1-888-877-9888 is that what you are all using to confirm the Manila embassy received your information and that your in line for an appointment??? I tried the internet link but it keeps bounching back with no appointment maybe I am not using the right format or I probably don't have an appointment scheduled yet.

Hi Brian,

Welcome to our thread.

To confirm receipt of your file, you may call Manila Embassy at (63-2) 528-6300 ext. 5184. Best time to call them is 8:00 AM Manila time. You may also get the information from the Dept. of State (DOS) at (202) 663-1225 (to skip the recording, press 100 to get the Visa Specialist). Be ready with your Manila case number. I don't like calling the embassy call center. They charge $1 a minute when it only costs $.03 cents to call the US.

If there is no appointment scheduled, the embassy link will bounce a no appointment reply.

thanks for the stages pw, also thanks for the kind advice that you have given all of us Newbies as well.... you hve been nothing but nice and helpful to us...like i said, i dont know how you do it. but im learning... hahah i think im in zombieland right now....

like i mentioned in my post earlier, its easier to control your own emotions but that of some one elses. there arent enough encouraging words to say at times and alot of questions that i myself cannot answer. as much as i prepared ourselves for this, i think you can never prepare enough especially when things are not in your control. also, things get quite difficult especially when there are so many other factors and other people affected ... its not just the waiting...

im always praying for the best. with god's guidance, things will turn out fine for all of us. i know it will. and you are right, in the end, the end result is what counts.

my fiance just got her Cernomar. does anybody know if the Filippino Interviewer or the CO are now asking for it? also she attended the CFO in Cebu. will she be able to get her sticker in Manila? She attended CFO in FEB 2006 because her coz was in Cebu visiting from US. Does the certificate have expiration? if so, can she renew in Manila?

Our Manila thread has been around since September 2005 (if my memory serves me right). There was a first thread that went missing after the “ VJ crash”. Windchaser started this new thread in January.

One year and 98 pages later, we’re still going strong. Under the “Foreign Embassy Forum”, we have the highest number of views at more than 58,000. I believe that’s one of the highest, if not the highest, number of views in VJ. Wow!

I’m proud and happy to note that in our little corner here, not once did anyone attempt to judge, demean, “flame” or name-call another person. We are tolerant and appreciative of each other’s differences and have always shown respect towards one another. We help one another by sharing our own experiences. There’s lots of giving and sharing going on around here.

So, on the occasion of our first year anniversary, here’s a toast to us, the Fil-Am couples! I’m so proud of us!

The CFO sticker is not a requirement during her interview at the embassy. It's the Philippine immigration that will look for that at the point of departure.

we've been approved!

i will have more details later. right now, he's sleeping and resting (had no sleep the night before his interview.)

he mentioned that the Filipina interviewer ask for the basic questions and was focusing on the pictures and letters/emails...and did not ask for a lot of documents that he had (not even phone records, joint bank account records, etc.)

the CO only ask the basics too and then they talked about the pictures and where in the Philippines that resort that we went to.

thanks for all y'all's help. i know for sure it won't have gone this smoothly without this forum...specifically this thread.

applicants for a US nonimmigrant visa must pay a non-refundable application fee of US$100 or its peso equivalent (at prevailing exchange rates). The fee can be paid at any of the designated banks (citibank,bank of the Philippines islands)

as i can remember,the teller will give a Form and staped it "paid"..(non-immigrant application form)that youll submit late on (during the inteview)

i went to that process,and i swear,the interview made me so nervous from the minute i went in the embassy until i got my visa 5 days after...They didnt tell you if you're approved or not in the interview...i could immagine howyour fiance feels right now...

whoa thank God i got my greencard (1yr) this afternoon...2-year GC will be mailed in couple weeks...

They say on the list of requirements for the interview that they need proof of payment for the visas at the bank.

What does the bank give out as proof? Is it just a receipt?

as went on the same process...as i can remember the bank will give you fiance an application form stamped "paid"..this form will be filled up by your fiance and will submit during the interview together with other requirements...
