Manila Embassy Interview

Hello everyone. Luz just got her NOA2 a few days ago. Thought I would pop in and see what is going on here. I have a feeling this will be my new home for a while. Is it to early to be added to the list? Our case hasn't gotten to Manila yet.

Oh Wind, so sorry to hear that. But don't worry too much about the reason for the AR. Your fiancee had some changes made in her birth certificate and the embassy just wants to make sure that everything was straight and legal. They will probably double check with both the LCR and the NSO (Philippine govt.) and once they’re satisfied that everything is above board, everything should be ok.

You know the problems we had with her BC, that's what worries me.....we couldn't get a new passport

wind at this point its being held up by the US government (there the ones that sent it out in the first place) you need to contact your local congressmans office ,and explain how long this has been ,and i strongly suggest you go there in person. i think you will find that 4 to 6 weeks will be very short when they get involved. everytime i call my government official it seems to fix the problem in under a week. the only time i couldnt get them to fix a problem was because it was a philippine issue that we paid off the required fee ( a big bribe) and it was fixed in a week. and you've seen my post since i started i may be loud an obnoxius , but i get it done. you an PW are the last of us old timers left if anyone one needs to make some noise its you and PW

I thought about that too but i've heard they won't do anything on a AR unless it went over the time limit. I'm still thinking about it tho. Anyone know who is best to contact in West Michigan? :help:

When you guys call the embassy which one did you rather talk too? Ext. 5184 or 5185? Or does it even matter? I normally call 5184.

Hey there I just want to asked if your fiancee brought with her a CENOMAR from NSO? Did they tell your fiancee what branch of government are they going to get verification documents?? Im sorry to hear your AR- I think you are under AR and hope you will have the visa in hand less than what they told you. I know one acquaintance of mine they had an AR but she got her visa within 2 weeks.

Yeah she did, they told her everything looked good when she was done with the interview......didn't ask if she was approved tho. I'm the one that talked to the Embassy a week later and they wouldn't give me any details. The one odd thing i remember when you ask me is the lady on the phone asked if my fiancee was planning on coming to the USA, i said yes and then she asked me if she planned to marry me when she got over there. Seems strange to ask me that a week after her interview. :wacko:

My fiancee' is at St Lukes as I write this........

So I have one dumb question---Since St Lukes keeps her FIlipino passport, what ID should she use to get into the embassy for the Fiancee interview with the counsular officer?

-postal ID

-company ID

-school ID

-credit card with photo

-NBI clearance

-photocopy of her passport

Your fiancee may not be able to get a new passport but she can have it amended to incorporate the change. She should request for “amendment” and not a new passport.

I'm still thinking about it tho. Anyone know who is best to contact in West Michigan?

I can appreciate your frustration with us, Danoco hehehe. I know you want to whack me and my fiance out of our senses for not getting his senator involved.

Anyway, our case had “Philippine issues” and now I am done with the legalities of it all. After taking everything into consideration, my fiance and I decided that the best and right way to do this is to just file another petition.

Assuming that we opted to file an appeal and got his senator involved, we figured the possibility was great that the appeal would be denied in the end. Now, we don’t want to waste all that time waiting for them to decide on our appeal, then decide to deny it anyway.

I read the U.S. Foreign Affairs Manual and have to concede, albeit reluctantly, that Manila Embassy’s decision was correct. I had an unterminated first marriage (same man) and therefore I was not legally free to marry at the time the petition was approved. That makes me ineligible. I can only blame myself for marrying my ex-husband twice! How stupid was that? <blames youth and naivete> Wait while I whack my head :bonk:

My fiance is definitely upset about all these but is willing to wait for me :clock: Now that's what I call love (L) :luv: and it's what makes all this wait more bearable. Right, Wind? Hey, it will all be okay in the end, you'll see :yes:
