Manila Embassy Interview

Hi Sillygirl,

This is marlene, after I got my NBI clearance I submitted it to Malacanang for authentication. Then I sent it to the UAE Embassy in Makati via courier with manager's cheque included as payment for their authentication. They will send it back to you via courier also. I submitted it to Dubai Police Dept after I got the authentication from the UAE Embassy. I suggest you call the UAE embassy as to the exact amount of authentication charges.

Good luck.

Hi Marlene! Thanks for the reply....

but what i meant to ask was: Is your Dubai police clearance authenticated by the UAE Foreign Affairs in Dubai? After your agent got the Dubai Police Certificate, did she need to go to the UAE Foreign Affairs in Dubai?

My authenticated NBI fingerprint card is already in my friend's possession in Dubai. But she told me that the DUBAI POLICE CLEARANCE needs to be authenticated by the UAE Foreign Affairs pa.

quite confusing.

Sillygirl,

My friend in Dubai did not go to the DFA in UAE all she did after I sent her all the documents is to submit to the Police Department. I got mine with no problem. By the way, did you submit your NBI clearance to the UAE embassy in Manila for authentication before you sent in to your friend in Dubai? maybe that is the case.

Ask your friend for more details or call the UAE embassy in Manila they might be able to help you.

marlene

My two cents on this:

1) If police clearance is already authenticated by UAE Foreign Affairs, then no need for UAE Embassy in Manila to authenticate it.

2) If police clearance is not authenticated by UAE Foreign Affairs, then send to UAE Embassy in Manila for authentication

Better to have UAE Foreign Affairs authenticate it before sending to Manila. I also suggest calling UAE Embassy to confirm procedures to be followed.

Hi again Marlene!

Yes, my NBI is already authenticated by the UAE embassy in manila before i sent it to my friend.

PW, thanks for the advice.

My friend told me that she can get my clearance on the 31st of July so i plan to call the embassy on monday and ask them if i need to have the Dubai Police Clearance authenticated by their Dept. of Foreign Affairs in Dubai. Basically, this is the only document that i am having trouble with.

thanks again for the replies. it keep panic attacks at bay.:lol:

A little off the topic but does my fiancee need the DS-230 part I and II for a K-1 interview? She didn't get it in the packets she was sent, but i saw it on the immigrant visa list of required documents.

Those aren't part of the K1. DS-156, DS-156k & DS-157 are. They must be for another (K3? or CR1?).

Those forms are for CR-1/IR-1. For K-1, the forms sent in her Packet 4 (DS-156, DS-157, DS-156K) are all she needs.

Audrey

Ah thanks for clearing that up, i just saw it in the list of fiancee forms on here, the embassy site and was a little confused.

my fiance's visa appt is at 6:30 am and he wants to know what time should he go for his visa interview. his sister, who recently had her immigrant visa appt. and is already in the US, told him she went to the embassy at 4 am for her 6:30 am interview.

i told him, i don't think it's necessary for you to go there that early. maybe try to get there a little before 6 am but 4 am is too early. am i right? he's already staying at the hotel across the street so i don't think it's a big deal but i just want clarification. i want to tell him that i'm right. :D

Yes it's not necessary to go there TOO early. If the interview is 6:30AM... then he may try to get there around 5 or 5:30AM. Besides, the lane outside isn't the biggest of the deal. Because when you're inside the building, the original lane outside is useless. Inside, you just need to stay on the seats beside the DS156/157 booth. The security guard will then call out for 6:30AM interviewees and that's the time to try to be the first on the lane.

Blessings on your fiance's interview.

Yeeeeeeeeeep. 4am is way too early. The guards at the embassy gate usually let people in an hour before their scheduled interview. My interview was scheduled at 8:15am and i showed up there at 7:30. Did not have any problems with lining up or getting in on time. So I agree with R & W, be there 5:15-5:30am, that way your fiance does not have to wait to long outside. Good luck!

AND, DONT stand in the line, go UP to the guard shack and show them your appt letter, they will move you into the area where appt letters sit.

There are many types of visitors on those days, some are seeking appts, others with interviews for family, but those with fiancee letter appts - are in the area inside.......SO, remember if you have a early time appt, DO NOT STAND IN THE LINE>>>>>>go to the GUARD SHACK>>>>>>
