It took 2 weeks for the clearance to be processed after being presented in person.

DHL took 2 - 3 days each way.

The lady acting as our agent also had to arrange time off work to turn it in and pick it up.

have another question for you..

the dubai Police Certificate that you got, was it authenticated by th UAE Foreign Affairs in Dubai? If so, was it authenticated by your agent or was it given to her authenticated already?

I sent my documents to my friend already, together with a foreign demand draft (from PNB) but she told me that they won't honor the cheque. But that's ok. she can easily pay Dhs110 for me. But she told me that the Certificate needs to be authenticated by the UAE Foreign Affairs. Hope you can help me out here.

Someone posted that asawa.org website is now closed. That's sad if true.

It's closed for new posts but still open for "read only". I sure got a lot of good advice from there and I hope something else replaces it. If anyone knows of forums similar to that, please post the links.

Hi Sillygirl,

This is marlene, after I got my NBI clearance I submitted it to Malacanang for authentication. Then I sent it to the UAE Embassy in Makati via courier with manager's cheque included as payment for their authentication. They will send it back to you via courier also. I submitted it to Dubai Police Dept after I got the authentication from the UAE Embassy. I suggest you call the UAE embassy as to the exact amount of authentication charges.

The website host made the announcement yesterday on administration section of the forum. Basically, he stated that he no longer had the time to administer the forum, and that he had lost the two major sponsors and the server fees were too expensive to continue financing. I was really sad to hear about this news because that forum was such a wealth of information and a great way to meet other Fil-Am couples.

agreed! seems like in a community that big there would be someone with the time and resources to take over. hopefully someone will step forward and take the reins from Bob. till then, guess i will be found perusing BNN.

Oh by the way, thanks for adding the timeline Patiently, but as of 5 mins ago it needs to be updated again....just got a call from Gizelle and she said she received her packet today! The funny thing is, it falls on her birthday (Oct. 5) so hopefully we will have a double celebration party that night. Ok, I think I'm ready to stop jumping up and down with joy, hahaha.
