Rustyash, if you are reading, you might want to call DOS at (202) 663-1225 ext 1,0,0. I am sure you have an interview scheduled also. Be ready with your Manila case number when calling DOS.

i called the embassy yesterday and yes they have our "physical" application (she said they received it on may 31...i guess you should change my timeline list.) thanks! i was told the same thing 120-150 days before an interview can be appointed.

Well... while we're waiting for the interview date to be set (every time I call DOS or the embassy I get the same answer: 100 to 150 days from now, nothing is scheduled yet) I have scheduled a trip to spend some time with my sweetheart. I will be spending a week there in July, right around Manila.

Here's hoping everyone gets their interview dates soon and that we can all start our new lives together.

I have just booked a flight for another visit also in July. My brother and his wife are due with their second child and will have it hopefully while I am there visiting in Manila. The bonus is that he is paying for my flight.

Just got off the phone with NVC and they now say it was sent to USE yesterday. So it appears that IMBRA was not the hold up afterall. That is a huge relief.

When I use the DHL tracking reference, I don't see a package to Manila being sent yesterday but I do on the 30th. I'll call the Embassy next to confirm the receipt.

Your fiancee will pay for the travel tax, she can pay it at the airport. My fiance was upset before cuz when he bought the ticket, tax was already included and why I have to pay for the travel tax. I asked from the information and I had to still pay for the travel tax. Thats their regulation,pay travel tax when you leave the country,hehehe... It doesnt matter, what matters most is you and her being together forever... :yes::thumbs:

If a plane ticket is purchased and paid for in the US, only the taxes charged by the US govt. (US customs tax, insurance, 9/11 security fee, etc.) are included in the computation. Airlines based abroad are not authorized to collect travel tax for the Philippine govt. This means that Filipino citizens exiting Manila using tickets paid for abroad have to pay the Philippine travel tax before departing.

On the other hand, if a ticket is issued in Manila, all foreign airlines are authorized to collect the travel tax so it is automatically added to the cost of the ticket hence there is no need to pay at the airport.

Updated to add Shortie81 and to add Manila receipt date of mychelle. Welcome to our thread Shortie and good luck on June 7! By the way Shortie, your Manila receipt date doesn't sound right. Are you sure the Embassy received your case file on May 16 and not February 16?

PW is right. My ticket was bought in US (via Orbitz), PAL straight flight from Manila to CA so I didn't pay for the travel tax in the Philippine airport. It's always safe to bring money just in case.

Yep....It is right that manila received the case on the 16 May 06....Actually the case was sent from the NVC on 11 May 06...and yes receieved Packet 4 on the 28th of the May with the interview date of 7 June. See i me and my wife have a special case, it has been expedited because I am military and I have orders to leave to goto Iraq for 5 months leaving July 10th. So the moved our case forward. Honestly I think that as i sent papers into the NVC...they were automatically forwarded to the Embassy but i don't know

As for my annulment, looks like the court is handing down a decision on Wednesday, June 7. If I get the decree on Wednesday, I'm off to the embassy to submit it. Then wait again for them to give me a visa.

We're getting there Wind, slowly but surely.
