Manila Embassy Interview

This is a vent post.. just so you know of a bad experience with Delbros today.

x x x I hope you don't experience this kind of inconvenience. I have a big headache now.

Up to the last moment, you are kept in suspense ano? Just like in the movies ~ adventure, comedy, thriller, horror, suspense talaga itong visa process. But in the end, the fairy tale comes true. Kanta nga ni Snowhite, “someday my prince (ehe my visa) will come, lalalalalala.

Seriously speaking, what's going on with Delbros nowadays? There's a lot of complaints lately. Maybe it's time to collate data to document the complaints and then we can write the embassy about it.

Well, the delivery guy managed to find my address after all. He delivered our visas at 9:00p.m. last night--even if their website says they only deliver up to 5:00p.m.. I did talk to the supervisor yesterday. And yup, I am so very tempted to write Mr. Delgado (Delbros CEO) and the embassy about this. A collective documentation of complaints would even be better.

Now you make me feel like singing... I'm leaving on a jetplane... :star:

Nah.. believe me it's more like poetry reading when i sing...

And so! Visas delivered: 28 March/6 days/Cainta, Rizal.

Thanks again and congratulations guys. Everyone who goes through this process deserves a big one... the visa process is certainly not for the weak of heart.

oh yes, i'm dancing now :dance::yes: ,

Congrats to all who has rec'd their visa!!!

I"m really sad because I called the Embassy and they said maybe my visa will be release next week.

All the information and file is still on the Counsular's desk for review. After the review and verification of the applications, she will send it to print, and that may take 3 days to release to Delbros.

So now I have to change the flights from the 7th to Whenever????? :crying::crying::angry::(:( !!!!!

Thanks 49B for you response.

I hope they release your visa soon.

It must be really anxiety-provoking to wait.................

I hope all is well.

Francel

For Manila Embassy Interview:

I'm planning to fly to the Philippines to accompany my parents to the interview.

They have separate petitions/cases but their appointment day and time is exactly the same.

Q: Can the petitioner go inside the pre-screening room (with the parent applicant/s and the Filipina pre-screener)?

Will I be allowed? [ I didn't want to leave them alone-------with a possibly tricky or sneaky Filipina screener

Or do I have no choice but to wait for the COnsular interview?

Thanks a lot.

Maria Francel

When I went with my Fiance, they told us to request to accompany that person for the interview. But when we did try to request it at window X or Y, they told us it was ok to do so and no need to request your present with the Fiance...

The Pre-Screener is a window, not a room. Also the Counsular interview is a small room w/ a window front blocking you from direct contact with the Interviewer. Basically it is like a Bank teller window here in the States....

Question! Is it normal for the Embassy to skip over visa processing? We had our interview on the 21st and I see everyone from the 22nd and 23rd are receiving their Visa or Visa in process for delivery. I called the Embassy and We are not process for delivery yet.

Is this normal and has anyone else exprienced this? :crying::no::o:angry:

yes, wife was told at interview she was approved, then others that had interview day after us received their visa before us. i think it just depends on the CO you get for the interview and how efficient they are moving paperwork off their desk, at least that's my theory. if you are still in the states and call the embassy at the number in sherriff ulings signature they can tell you what is the status of your case, at least they did with us. good luck!

I have been back and forth to the Philippines numerous times. I have always flown on Northwest Airlines. My wife came here on February 7. The fare from Manila to Jacksonville, Florida was about $700 including tax for one way. I reccomend also signing up for NWA's World Perks program. You earn sky miles of which are really a big savings when NWA runs Asia Sales. NWA runs 4 sales a year to Manila and the roundtrip fare is usually about $700 plus 5,000 to 10,000 World Perks miles. A one way ticket from Manila to Jacksonville, Florida earns about 9000 World perks Miles. I have flown roundtrips to Manila twice over the last 2 years using nothing but World perks Miles and my tickets were free. Another huge benefit is that NWA will give you free first class seating up-grades when First class has empty seats. No, I don't work for NWA, but I am very pleased with my flight experiences with them to Manila. If you are the east coast of the USA, they are hard to beat on quality and price. When you price your query on NWA.com, you will see that some tickets on some days are much less. It depends on availability. I hope this helps.

to add to this, another thing that's nice about the Worldperks program is anyone can use your banked miles, family or friends... and it has no expiration date.... i've redeemed my banked miles more than 5 years after i earned them and had my father use it (rt mnl-lax-mnl) ... my aunt had a distant relative use her redeemed miles.

one more thing.... if you would book a NW flight through a travel agency, it would come out cheaper by at least a hundred dollars if u tell them u'r a first time immigrant... the only problem is you have to book (with the local travel agent) at least two months before your intended flight as they go very fast... i've been trying to book thru several local agents as early as mar 15 for a flight on any day on the first 2 weeks of May but what they could give me was on the third week... but when I called NWA, there was an available seat for May 4, and it costs $150 more....

i have a question though.... the clerk who released my x-result at St. Luke's told me to bring it with me to the U.S.... should i hand-carry it???

btw, i'm a newbie here and i find this forum very informative... i already have my visa but i wish i had learned about this when we were just starting the journey...

MAYUMI ni magiting :)

I honestly have no clue, however I strongly suspect it is a formality. There could be a statistical correlation between abortions and mental illness for example.

make sure she does not tell the psychiatrist about the talking flowers... :jest:

I'm wondering if the referral is required there since abortion is illegal in the Philippines. Could it be that they are compelled to make the referral? According to Philippine law, she has admitted to comitting a crime.

Hi everyone,

Well Jasmin and Gracey left Cebu yesterday and arrived in Japan safely...they are now on continental flight to Newark..I checked the site and the plane is expected early...4pm today....the journey is almost over...I can't wait, we are all very excited. This has been a 2 year journey for us, I can't believe its at an end...we spoke for the last time on the computer yesterday...its gonna be kind of wierd not waking up every morning and talking via computer and cam...lol...but I think some how we won't miss it...:) My boys and I will be leaving for the airport (2 hour ride) around 1pm...the wait is driving me crazy!!

Good luck to all, we'll update soon

I will call again today, but no, I'm back in Chicago and we have tickets for the 7th of April. I just don't want to pay for the changes of the tickets. Thanks again....PW helped me also, or should I say something to worry about. She said start worrying after 10 days, and call after 15 days has passed.:angry::angry: [/color][/b]

Ohh, so sorry 49BSTREET for giving you cause to worry. But hey look, others who were interviewed about the same time as your sweetie haven't received any news too so you're all in the same boat. Maybe embassy is just swamped with work. Plus of course, we are observing a long holiday next week so maybe a lot of their staff are already on early holiday. Oooppps, I think I only made the situation sound worse for those still waiting

by the way, is there any chance that the consul will call the petitioner in the US during the interview?

Always expect the unexpected during the interview.

hey everybody! quick update, sherwin and i are in florida now!!! yehey!!!!:dance::dance: POE was guam, sherwin was told "welcome to america" then after a very long flight we arrived in tampa abt 2 pm on march 28. we took continental, after guam, stop in honolulu where u pass thru immigration again and then clear customs, which is very quick, we were only in honolulu abt 1.5 hours and had plenty of time to make connection. take care all, God bless, bernie and she

Hi Bernie, where did you do POE? Guam? Did they take the x-ray there?

one more thing.... if you would book a NW flight through a travel agency, it would come out cheaper by at least a hundred dollars if u tell them u'r a first time immigrant... the only problem is you have to book (with the local travel agent) at least two months before your intended flight as they go very fast...

i have a question though.... the clerk who released my x-result at St. Luke's told me to bring it with me to the U.S.... should i hand-carry it???

Welcome to our thread mayumi. It's good to know that Northwest also offers first time immigrant fare. Regarding your question, if your POE is Honolulu, yes you need to hand-carry your x-ray. If POE is mainland USA, no need to handcarry x-ray.

Happy to say we now have an NSO copy of my honey's annullment in hand for the interview.:dance::dance: PHEW!!!! I was sweating some bullets on that one! God came through again! :)

That's good to hear Skeeter.

I need some help here my friends. My Fiancee has a friend that just had her medical. A went well until she told the Dr. that she had an abortion. Now they want to send her to a Psychiatrist. She has dealt with the fact that she did what she had to do and moved on. She is scared that they might not give her the visa. Can this keep her from getting her k-1??? We really need to tell her??

Abortion per se is not ground for visa denial but causing harm to one's self or another person due to a mental disorder can be ground for inadmissability. Everything now will depend on the result of her session with the Psychiatrist. If the psychiatrist determines that your friend does not have a mental disorder, she should be okay.

Wow, Todd! Your wait is finally down to a few hours! I'm so happy for you and Jasmin. Say hello to her and Gracey (tisay) for me.

Updating list to congratulate Kismet on visa delivery. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed for others who are still waiting for Delbros delivery.
